The Galaxy Watch is splash water resistant, allowing it to be used in those daily life activities that you may experience near water or in the rain.

The following features allow you to take full advantage of your watch's water and dust resistance.

Galaxy Watch4, Watch4 Classic, Watch5 Pro, Watch6 and Watch6 Classic can be used in everyday situations where they are exposed to water or sweat during exercise, hand washing, rain and other similar situations, thanks to meeting IP6X rating for dust resistance, IPX8 for water resistance and 5ATM for water resistance.

To test the IPX8 water resistance rating, we submerged the device in 1.5 meters of fresh water for 30 minutes, leaving it still, without movement, to meet the requirements of IEC 60529 certification.

Likewise, the IP6X dust resistance rating was tested to meet the requirements of IEC 60529 certification.

We always recommend that when using your Galaxy Watch4, Watch4 Classic, Watch5 Pro, Watch6, Watch6 Classic that you do not stay submerged underwater, do not snorkel, scuba dive or engage in water sports such as water skiing or surfing, and do not swim in rough water (either in the sea or in a river).

Also, do not expose it to high-pressure cleaning machines, pressure washers or similar devices, as this will result in a drastic increase in water pressure, which may alter the water resistance guaranteed by our company. Always remember to consult your user manual for further guidance.

The Galaxy Watch (an earlier model released in 2018) has a water resistance rating of IP68 and cannot be used in swimming pools or in the sea.

  • The water resistance feature of Galaxy Watch is not permanent. Therefore, we always recommend that you make sure to check the water resistance of your watch from time to time at an authorized Samsung Electronics service center to ensure the protection of your devices.

  • Disinfectants, chlorinated water or salt can affect the water resistance performance of your Galaxy Watch, so you should wash the device with clean water if it accidentally gets wet at the pool or beach before it dries, and then wipe it with a soft, clean cloth and dry it thoroughly before use to maintain the watch's water resistance.

  • Even if you are exposed to liquids other than clean water (such as coffee, carbonated beverages, soapy water, oils, perfumes, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and chemicals such as cosmetics, among others), wash the device with clean water and dry it thoroughly with a soft, clean cloth to maintain its water resistance.

  • If your device is subjected to external impact or damage, its water or dust resistance performance may be reduced.
  • Do not disassemble your device, as water or dust resistance may be affected.

  • Do not dry your Galaxy Watch with heat devices such as hair dryers or in environments such as saunas and steam rooms, with sudden or extreme air and water temperature changes, as it may jeopardize the water resistance performance.

  • Do not insert a sharp object into the hole located on the outside of the Galaxy Watch, as this may damage its internal components, or water resistance may be impaired.

  • Do not swim or shower while wearing a leather band or hybrid band, as they are not water resistant.
