When registering a Samsung appliance, it stops processing at 44 % or lower.

If the network connection between the appliance and the smartphone is unstable, the process may stop before reaching 44%.

Note: The method of accessing the menu or feature names may differ depending on smartphone manufacturer, provider, and OS version.

 

1 Check the instructions on the appliance and smartphone screens once more.

- Press the buttons according to the instructions shown on the screen. When registering an appliance, you cannot proceed to the next step without     pressing the button on the device or remote control as instructed.  
- If the AP mode is displayed and then disabled on the appliance, restart the process from the beginning. AP mode is maintained for 5 minutes.

2 Turn off mobile data on your smartphone and connect to the Wi-Fi.

1. On your smartphone, go to Settings > Connections > Data Usage and turn off mobile data.

2. On your smartphone, go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi, tap the name of the router at your current location, and enter the Wi-Fi password.

3 Make sure that the smartphone and the appliance are properly connected to the router.

1. On your smartphone, go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi and check whether your phone is connected normally to the router at your current location.

 

Note :

- A 2.4 GHz connection is recommended for connecting to all appliances other than TVs or family hub refrigerators on a Wi-Fi network. Using a 5 GHz
Wi-Fi connection may cause problems with connecting to appliances.

- You cannot use a 2.4 GHz connection if the Wi-Fi router is configured to 5 GHz. Refer to the user manual provided with the router to
configure the router for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

 

2. Check the name and the password of the router, and connect your smartphone and the appliance again.

3. On your smartphone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced and turn off Switch to mobile data.

4 Turn off the power of the appliance, then turn it back on to make a connection.

The name of the appliance is displayed with the type, model, and manufacturer name.  Example) [air purifier] Samsung (Samsung Air Purifier)

1. Turn the power of the appliance off and back on.

2. Close the SmartThings app and restart it.

3. Refer to the user manualprovided with the appliance to configure the appliance in AP mode.

4. Remove the appliance name from your smartphone's Wi-Fi configuration and reconnect it.

5. On your smartphone, tap Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi.

6. On the Wi-Fi screen, go to  > Advanced and tap Manage networks.

7. Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network to remove and tap Forget.

5 Check the configuration and firmware version of the router.

- The router name should consist only of symbols and alphanumeric characters. An error may occur with the connection if special characters are used in the router name. If special characters are used in the router name, you should make a new name.

- Check the authentication and encryption method of the router as follows.

 

1.  On your smartphone, tap the name of the Wi-Fi network on Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Manage networks and check Security on the Advanced features screen for Wi-Fi.

2. If a WPA2 method with EAP authentication is used, you may not be able to make a connection. In this case, try changing the authentication method of the Wi-Fi router and reconnect the device.

- Refer to the user manual provided with the router to update the router firmware to the most recent version.

- If there is a firewall, disable it and try to register the appliance again.

6 Check the distance between the appliance and the router.

- Check that the Wi-Fi antenna appears on the appliance display.

- From the device location, connect your smartphone to the Wi-Fi network and check the strength of the Wi-Fi. For a stable connection, three or more

Wi-Fi network antenna bars should be displayed.

- If the device is too far from the router and this causes the network connection to be unstable, install an
additional router or a repeater to extend the coverage area.
