What is the UDC (Under-Display Camera) of the Galaxy Z Fold4?
The Under-Display Camera is a camera that you can find in the Galaxy Z Fold4, which hides the camera under the current display of the screen to let you enjoy videos or games uninterrupted with the whole screen dedicated to them.
How Under-Display Camera works
Under-Display Camera is a technology that reduces the pixel density of the display and places the camera at the bottom of the display panel without a separate hole, increasing the light transmittance.
Specifications and uses of the Under-Display Camera
Under-Display Camera uses 4MP, fixed focus (FF) and F1.8. Since the pixels of the front camera are 4MP, it is recommended to use it for video calls and face recognition unlocking. High-definition selfies can be taken through the cover-screen camera, and for seamless connectivity between the cover and the main screen only the basic photo/video shooting mode is provided in Under-Display Camera.
To access the Under-Display Camera, run the camera with the folder screen open and select the round arrow in the lower right corner, it will change to Under-Display Camera selfie mode:

- Some camera features are not available.
- The image quality of Under-Display Camera may be lower than that of other cameras.
- To take clearer selfies, it is recommended to use the cover screen camera or the rear camera of the Galaxy Z Fold4.
Improvements compared to previous models
The Galaxy Z Fold4 has an increased pixel resolution over the Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Under-Display Camera has been increased to improve grid visibility (mosaic pattern).
