Hearing aid support
Enhance the sound quality to work better with hearing aids.
Stream media and route call audio feature with a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection will be supported from Android 10.

Left/right sound balance
Adjust the left/right sound balance to suit your hearing preferences.

Mono audio
Mono audio combines stereo sound into one signal that is played through all earphone speakers. Use this if you have a hearing impairment or if a single earbud is more convenient.

Adapt sound
You may be more sensitive or less sensitive to certain frequencies of sound compared to other people. Adapt sound gives you perfect sound that's tuned just for your ears. Choose a preset that matches your age, or try a hearing test to get fully personalized sound.

Live Transcribe & Sound Notifications
Have conversations easily, with Live Transcribe on Android. The feature will detect the language that's being spoken from over 70 languages and dialects. Supporting the captions adjust as your conversation flows. Sound Notification alerts you with based on surrounding sound. This feature will allow you to aware of the important situations at home, such as a fire alarm of doorbell ringing, so that you can respond quickly.

Live Caption & Caption preference
With a single tap, Live Caption on Android will automatically caption any media on your phone. Any video, podcast and audio message, across any app--even stuff you record yourself. You can turn on or off captions and customize size or style of it.

Amplify ambient sound
Amplify the world around you. Listen to your conversation more clearly with earphone by reducing the noise around you.

Flash notification
Flash Notification flashes the camera light or the screen when you receive notifications or when alarms go off. You can choose a different color for each app to easily determine where a notification or an alarm is coming from.

Mute all sounds
Mute All Sounds turns off all sounds from the device.

Buds

Customize ambient sound
When you hear surrounding sounds through Galaxy Buds, you can adjust the tone, the L/R volume, and make the sound more audible in the viewing direction, so that you can hear it in your preferred tone.

TV

Caption
Captions are provided for almost all US TV programs. Dialogue is displayed as screen text for deaf or hard of hearing user. If captions obstruct the screen and interfere with viewing, you can move them to a more convenient position. Plus, to enhance visibility, you can set the font size, color, and the background color and transparency to suit your needs.

Sign language zoom
Sign language zoom automatically recognizes and enlarges the sign language area, enabling deaf users to see more detailed mouth and facial expressions. You can specify a sign language area and adjust the magnification by up to 200%. Blind users can also use this function to zoom in on a specific area, such as scores for sporting events or quiz programs.

Multi-output audio
Multi-output audio enables hard of hearing users to enjoy TV with the family. Sound is output to both speakers and headphones at the same time. Each family member can enjoy the broadcast at their own volume levels – hard of hearing users can listen using a bluetooth device, and family members can listen through the TV speaker.

Refrigerator

Subtitles / audio description
Users can watch TV content on the Family Hub refrigerator. Hearing-impaired users can turn on subtitles by launching the Samsung TV Plus app and tapping the CC icon. Conversations are displayed visually as text on the screen.

Door open alarm
If there is a control panel inside the refrigerator, the light inside the refrigerator blinks to provide a door open alarm along with a sound alert. The light blinks even when the door is left slightly open. This function is designed with hearing-impaired users in mind.

* This feature is applied to refrigerator models released from 2019 onwards. The light blinks when the door is left open for 5 to 10 min.

Accessibility setting tips

  1. Smartphone/Tablet

    Accessibility shortcuts - Accessibility shortcut allows you to access the accessibility features quicker and easier. (Use Accessibility button, Quickly press the Side and Volume up keys, Press and hold the Volume up and down keys)

    Reset accessibility settings - Reset accessibility settings to their defaults, separately from the other settings.

    Recommended for you - You can check what accessibility functions you're currently using and function recommendations for you.

    Accessibility shortcuts - Triple tap with two fingers on any screen to activate your selected accessibility function.

     

  3. TV

    Adjust TV accessibility features with a simple one-touch on-screen menu. You can activate most TV accessibility features with Accessibility shortcut. Once enabled, start Voice guide and Sign language guide automatically. To display the Accessibility shortcut, press and hold the volume button. Alternatively, press and hold the mute button or press the closed caption button.
