Ltd. and KT Corporation (KT) were recognized for their 5G common core as the “Best 5G Core Network Technology” at the 5G World Awards 2021. Last November, Samsung deployed Korea’s first 5G Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) common core in KT’s commercial network and in July of this year, the two companies successfully launched Korea’s first commercial 5G SA network, opening doors to a new wave of consumer experiences and business opportunities.
Samsung’s 5G common core can support 5G SA and NSA as well as 4G simultaneously, facilitating a smooth transition to 5G SA. This fully-integrated common core simplifies data packet flows, enabling users to experience stable, high-quality mobile services. Enterprises can also selectively adopt either SA and/or NSA networks to easily scale their business-specific services. The transition to 5G SA networks will lead to new business opportunities, enabling reduced time-to-service and accelerating a new generation of use cases.
