On this month’s edition of Networks Tech Talk, Samsung’s TJ Maan, GM of Regional Operators Business, is joined by Shervin Gerami, CEO at TeleWorld Solutions, a wholly-owned Samsung subsidiary, to discuss new opportunities for enterprises and operators for utilizing newly available mid-band spectrum in the US called Citizens Broadband Radio System, or CBRS.

CBRS is 150 MHz of spectrum in the 3.5 GHz band, also referred to as Sub 6 or mid-band spectrum, for commercial use in the United States, which was recently auctioned off by the Federal Communications Commission. With the recent closing of the FCC’s CBRS PAL (Priority Access License) auction, there are now a handful of spectrum licensees including traditional operators and cable companies as well as non-traditional players like Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) and companies spanning the utility, energy, manufacturing and agricultural industries. This auction was important as CBRS can increase operator’s network capacity and extend wireless broadband services to rural markets as well as enable private enterprise networks.

Samsung provides operators with the power to deliver affordable, high-speed fixed broadband services to their customers with CBRS-based solutions. Maan highlights Samsung’s flagship solutions as well as discusses common CBRS use cases for operators and enterprises from fixed wireless access (FWA) to industrial IoT and large outdoor coverage for industries like manufacturing, logistics, agriculture and construction.

Samsung recently acquired TeleWorld Solutions (TWS) as part of a continued effort to advance its end-to-end network service offerings, which specializes in designing and optimizing mobile networks. TWS provides a unique service approach that can help to expedite network design, automate network optimization, save on costs through network analysis and create efficiencies through technology integration. In the second half of this webinar, Gerami details the 5G lifecycle in providing full-service, end-to-end deployment services from network design, deployment, optimization, and management based on the specific use case.

The commercialization of CBRS opens up new opportunities for operators to deliver affordable, high-speed fixed broadband services to customers in underserved communities as well as private networks for businesses. Samsung understands the important of providing high-quality service and network infrastructure to offer our customers with industry-leading wireless network solutions. Learn more about how Samsung and TeleWorld Solutions can help operators and enterprises with best-in-class network solutions through the combination of its CBRS product solutions and experience-driven deployment services.
