Explain the WAP service
[Solution]
The comparison between Wi-Fi and WAP is needed to clarify what the WAP service is. Basically, Wi-Fi is a technology used in laptops to provide internet accessibility on the move. However, Wi-Fi only connects to Web pages, and not the WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) pages. Namely, WAP is a computer based web browser but simplified to operate within the restrictions of a mobile phone.
In short, WAP, a packet related data service, is a set of protocols enabling mobile phones and other radio devices to be connected to the Internet.
Thus, users can use internet browsers, e-mails, communities, etc. via the WAP service.
The cost will be applied according to the mobile communication service provider’s cost policy for PS (Private Switch) network.
