Why there may appear to be no sound on your Samsung Galaxy device
If no sound is heard from your Galaxy device and a message related to accessibility settings appears when adjusting the volume, the Mute all sounds feature may be enabled. Features such as Do not disturb, volume settings, or temporary system errors may also affect sound output. Follow the steps below to check and restore sound on your Galaxy device.
Note:
When Mute all sounds is enabled, all sounds are muted, including media, notifications, system sounds, and the other person's voice during calls.
Volume cannot be adjusted while Mute all sounds is enabled.
Menu names, settings, and screen layouts may vary depending on the device model and software version.
If all sounds are muted and a popup related to accessibility appears when adjusting the volume, the Mute all sounds feature may be enabled.
The Do not disturb feature silences calls and notifications except for allowed exceptions.
Button sounds and touch sounds are controlled by system volume, while notification sounds are controlled by Notification volume. You can also turn individual system sounds on or off in the system sound settings.
