Connecting SmartThings to Refrigerator

Samsung's SmartThings allows you to connect your Samsung refrigerator to your smartphone or tablet for remote monitoring and control. You can adjust the temperature, receive alerts if the door is open, and set up routines. It's a simple process that can help you keep track of your food and ensure your refrigerator is always running optimally.

We recommend to proceed with below steps: 

1 Make sure your Wi-Fi router and Refrigerator are both turned on.
2 Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on your phone.
3 Swipe down to open the Quick settings panel and check that Wi-Fi is turned On, if Wi-Fi is disabled tap its icon to turn it On.
4 Close the panel and open the SmartThings app, on the Devices tab, tap Add (+) in the top right corner.
5 Tap Scan under Scan QR code and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Refrigerator.

      •  SmartThings app QR codes may vary by product.

6 If you want to select the product from the list instead tap Refrigerator below, tap Samsung, and then tap Refrigerator. Tap Start.
7 Press and hold the Fridge button on the product for more than 5 seconds until "AP" is displayed on the refrigerator. For some models, the screen will skip automatically and you can proceed to the next stop.

     • Some devices may have different buttons.

     • Tap Can't find the button? if you are not able to locate the button.

8 When"AP" is displayed on the refrigerator, please wait for a moment.

      • SmartThings will begin connecting the refrigerator to your phone.

      • Place your phone close to the Refrigerator for a few seconds.

9 To connect to Wi-Fi, select the Wi-Fi network you are using, then enter your Wi-Fi password.
10 The Refrigerator will be registered to your Samsung account. Tap Done.
