What should you do if your Samsung washing machine stops spinning?

Last Update date : 2023-08-26

There are various possible explanations for why your washing machine's spin performance is not as intended. It is possible that this is due to sensors in the machine that automatically pause or stop the spin cycle if an issue is detected. Use the advice below to help you determine the various causes of this problem and what you can do to try to resolve it.

If the drum does not revolve at all during the wash and spin cycles, an engineer will be needed. To test this, perform a short cycle with no washing and no detergent. When the cycle begins, you must keep an eye on the drum. The device will fill with water within the first few minutes; after that, peek through the entrance to check whether you can see the drum turning. It is usual for it to restart and stop several times. If the drum still does not turn, you can get it repaired.

An ideal spin speed is established for each cycle. An automatic selection is made for this. In most cases, you can manually select a slower pace. On the majority of cycles, you are limited to the fixed speed.
Usually, only a cotton cycle or specialized spin cycle will let you choose a full spin speed. This will shield your clothing from harm from a spin phase that is too high for the fabric. For more details, please refer to the user manual.

The machine will not spin properly if the drum has stopped draining. Normally, a 5C check code will be displayed. If it is draining but at a sluggish rate, you may not notice a check code. Our tutorial on what the codes on my washing machine indicate contains a detailed explanation of these codes. It is also a good idea to clean the filter on a regular basis to keep it from becoming clogged.

To solve drainage problems, use the following steps:

1 Restart the cycle
2 Using your hand to make sure the drum has not seized, it is also worthwhile to check to see if it physically spins when empty
1 Turn off the power to the appliance and wait for 30 seconds
2 Turn on the appliance once more
3 Begin a new program
