What to do if the hot water and cold water is not supplied in the Washing machine?

Last Update date : 2023-06-15

Washing machines are connected to the household water supply using fill hoses. These hoses often have a plastic or wire mesh filter inserted into the end of the hose that attaches to the faucet.

The mesh filter prevents sediment from entering the water inlet valve, which is located on the back of the washing machine and once the sediments are accumulated, it may affect the water supply.

Top-loading washing machine

Some Samsung washing machine top load has two water supply sources: cold water and hot water because the top-loading machine doesn't contain a heater. Still, some of the top-loading washing machines have only one water supply that one used only for cold water.

Front load washing machine

Most of the Samsung washing machine front load has only one water supply because it has an internal heater.

Reasons for washing machine not supplying cold and hot water:

  1. Hoses are kinked or the faucets are not fully open.
  2. Water pressure is not adequate.
  3. The mesh filter has sediment or is not clean.

Begin by checking that the hoses are not kinked and that the faucets are fully open.

  • Connect the water hose to the adaptor. Then, release the hose that fits into the adaptor with a clicking sound.
  • Connect the other end of the water hose to the inlet valve on the back of the washing machine. Turn the hose clockwise to tighten.
  • Open the water tap and check if there are any leaks around the connection areas.

To verify that you have adequate water pressure to fill the hoses, place the hose ends in a bucket or tub and turn the faucet on. If you have minimal pressure, inspect the gauze in the hose for dirt buildup or damage

  • Switch off the water and electricity of the washing machine.
  • Gently pull out the mesh filters from the water supply intakes using a pair of pliers.
  • Rinse them under running water until they are clean.
  • Return the mesh filter back gently, connect the water hose, switch the water on.
