Prevent screen burn on your Samsung smart watch.

Last Update date : 2023-06-14

Your smartwatch may be suffering from screen burn if you see any fading on the screen. It could appear on the screen as a word or image outline, fading colors, or other distinct blotches or patterns. Making sure your smart watch screen isn't on for an excessive amount of time will help you avoid screen burn.

If you prefer to wear your watch constantly, you can avoid screen burn by reducing the brightness.

1 From the watch's Home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel.
2 Tap the Brightness icon, and then lower the brightness of the watch using the controls.

You might occasionally forget to switch off the watch's screen due to your hectic schedule. You can set the watch to turn off automatically after a particular period of time using the Screen timeout feature, so there's no need to worry.

1 On your watch, navigate to and open Settings.
2 Swipe to and tap Display, and then tap Screen timeout.
3 From there, choose the amount of time that will pass before the screen turns off from inactivity.

You might only be able to change the brightness and Screen timeout through the Galaxy Wearable app, depending on the model of your watch.

• On your phone, navigate to and open the Galaxy Wearable app, and then tap Display. Adjust the brightness with the slider under Brightness.

• On the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch5 series, open the Galaxy Wearable app, and then tap Watch settings. Tap Display, and then adjust the brightness with the slider under Brightness.
