How to perform a picture test on your Samsung TV

If you are having trouble with your TV, you may think it's better to reset and start over. Although it could be one of the solutions to its problem, it may not be necessary. Your TV also has several built-in self-diagnostics to help you troubleshoot problems with your video, picture, sound, and many other things.

Note: Device Care is available on 2020 and 2021 Samsung TVs. 

To perform a picture test, follow these steps:

1 Press the Home button on your Samsung remote control to bring up the Smart Hub and then select Settings.

2 Scroll down to the Support tab and then select Device Care.

3 Your device will run a quick scan.

4 Scroll across and select Self Diagnosis then select Picture Test.
5 A test picture will now appear.
6 If the picture looks normal press Yes, if there is an issue with the picture try to do Picture Reset.

Note: 

  • The video/picture shown in the test is the best quality your TV can provide. However, the quality may vary depending on which source is used.
  • If you detect an issue with the test, the TV may have a problem. Contact Samsung Support for assistance.
