How to set up SmartThings Energy
SmartThings Energy is available to anyone with a compatible smart meter. It’s easy to get set up. Check you have what you need and follow the instructions below to get started.
You'll need the following things:
A UK smart meter installed in your home.
A recent energy bill handy so we can verify your identity.
The SmartThings app – download here.
That’s all. Simply follow the instructions below to set up SmartThings Energy in just a few minutes.
Connecting your smart meter to SmartThings

Step 1
Download the SmartThings app on iOS or Android and set up an account.
Step 2
1. Open SmartThings on your mobile and press the '+' symbol.
2. Then ‘Add device’.
Step 3
Search by brand for ‘Chameleon’ and follow on-screen instructions.
Step 4
Read the Privacy Policy and click continue. Then enter your house name/number and post code.
Step 5
Upload a recent energy bill so we we’re able to verify your identity.
Step 6
Create an account by entering your email address and password
Then click through the terms and conditions and select ‘Agree’ .
Step 7
Once you’ve set up your smart meter, click on the Life tab and select SmartThings Energy.
Step 8
Your SmartThings Energy set up is now complete! It may take 48 hours to start receiving data from your smart meter, it will then update daily after that.
