How to use the BBC iPlayer app on Samsung TV

BBC iPlayer

The BBC iPlayer app comes pre-installed on all current Samsung TVs. This means that you don’t have to download or install anything to use it.

To open the BBC iPlayer, simply open Smart Hub and select the iPlayer app icon.

Please note: You will need to sign into your BBC account to access iPlayer content.

Why can’t I find the BBC iPlayer app?

There are several reasons that you may no longer be able to see the BBC iPlayer app:

  • Each year the Samsung Smart TV platform is updated, and the BBC may have removed support for the particular Smart Platform used by your TV. For up to date information on Samsung Smart TVs supported by the BBC, please contact the BBC
  • The app may have been hidden from the Quick Access bar. To return the icon to the Quick Access bar:
1 Press the Home button on your remote
2 Navigate to and select Apps
3 Navigate to Downloaded apps
4 To add the selected app to the Quick Access bar, press and hold Enter until the dropdown menu appears
5 Select Add to home

Why does error message 02103 appear when selecting the BBC iPlayer app?

This sometimes occurs if the previous source was an HDMI or Samsung TV Plus device.
