The phone has a sleek design and powerful performance, with an excellent camera and screen experience.
However, the battery life is a major issue, with many users reporting the phone struggles to last a full day.
Some also note problems with the fingerprint scanner, signal strength, and software stability.
Overall, the phone has both positive and negative aspects, leaving customers divided on whether it is worth the purchase.

The Screen experience is outclass. Secondly the camera results are awesome. Only the drawback here is the battery life which is don't know why so bad

The phone itself is amazing, great quality, and an incredible camera. The screen is clear, very bright when needed, i watch a lot of youtube and netflix and never have any problems seeing anything. The weight of the phone is nice too, you can definitely feel it in your hand/pocket. Superfast charger works a treat and charges the phone from flat to full in around 45/50 minutes. The only downside is the battery life, on a full charge, during an 8 hour shift at work, i find myself coming home to below 10% most days, and thats from only using social media/texting friends, definitely think a better battery life would push my rating up to 5 stars

We are pleased to see that you are happy with the amazing quality of the Galaxy S22 5G overall. As you mentioned, the 50MP camera is superb, allowing you to take perfect pictures even at night. Not only that, but the design is also light for the best comfort while holding it, and the stunning 120Hz Infinity-O display is incredibly good. We are also sorry to see that you are not happy with the battery of your Galaxy S22 5G, although you can charge it easily and quickly with Super-Fast Charging. We would love to advise you on this so you can make the most of the features and power of your new device. The Galaxy S22 5G features a powerful and intelligent 3700 mAh battery that is designed to go beyond the 24-hour mark. During the early days, the battery life may be shorter. This is normal because the phone's optimisation feature is learning your usage patterns to adapt to them and stabilise. You will notice a dramatic improvement after a few weeks of use with the battery of your phone living for much longer even when using 5G or playing high-spec games. We would also like to share with you this link with great steps and solutions to improve and make the most of the battery life of your phone: https://bit.ly/SamsungUK-BatteryOptimisation ^CL at Samsung Support
The phone is a massive upgrade for me from an S9 edge. The speed is impressive and the visuals are smooth. I've had the phone for just over 3 months and I'm yet to find any issues. The battery is a lot of people's concern but personally it lasts long enough for my day to day life. The biggest issue and also the only issue I've found is when the phone gets colder the speakers (both earpiece and bottom) become fuzzy and awful however this is a very rare occurance. All in all the phone is impressive and even the camera quality is excellent for me. I am still finding new features to impress me and I'm still enjoying the phone. Great job Samsung

We bought two s22 in October 2022 with my wife. Charging extremely slow, with original charger if you got 0% battery it took 15minutes to charge up to 1% than start charging it normally. Camera way under perform than Xiaomi older version which I had. Slow reaction when taking photos...after press took 2secs for take a pic. Samsung pass forced to use on some websites instead allowing Google pay. Flickering and bugging apps Poor battery Gps got random locations many times Unfortunately Samsung not buying back its trashes after 14 days, but hopefully I'll save some quids for you guys. Both phones producing the issues.
We are disheartened to see that you have been experiencing these issues with your two Galaxy S22 5G, Michael. We would love for you to be able to make the most of everything amazing this phone can do for you with its incredible specs and smart features. First, please make sure to be using a 25W charger so you can make the most of the super-fast charging support of this device to charge its massive 3700mAh all-day intelligent battery. We also recommend checking this link where you will find an easy guide on how to optimise the battery of your device every day: https://bit.ly/SamsungUK-BatteryOptimisation If you are also experiencing issues with your apps not running smoothly and the GPS not being fully accurate, please follow these two links to optimise your device and fix the issues you mentioned: https://bit.ly/HowToIncreasePerformance - https://bit.ly/HowToFixGPSNotAccurate Finally, if you wish to use Google Pay instead of Samsung Pay, please follow these steps to set it as your default payment method: Settings > Tap Connections, and then tap NFC and contactless payment > Tap the switch to turn on the NFC feature on your phone, and then tap Contactless payments > Choose Google Pay, and then tap the Back arrow. We are confident these steps will help you make the most of your device in the short and long term. ^CL at Samsung Support
My last phone was a Samsung S10+. Everything about it was great, so whe the time came for the upgrade I stayed with Samsung. I got a great deal on the S22 256GB. Again, this phone is fantastic. Its fast, bright, a great size and takes fantastic photos and videos. I experience no lag or issues when using any of my app. But, my only issue with this phone is the battery life. I don't play high power intensive games but I find the battery drains very fast when playing Pokemon Go or Fire Emblem. My previous phones battery was better. That is my only gripe. Hope there is some sort of software update that can help address this.

We are happy to see that you are happy with so many features of your new S22 5G, Mick, and how much it has upgraded so many features that you know and love, from the way the powerful processor sharpens up how everything performs, to the way that its screen looks as dynamic as the rest of its design, to how the camera can capture your entire day in the most crisp detail. The great news is that the battery is intelligent enough to learn how you use your phone, and adapt itself accordingly. If you want to get some expert tips on other ways you can maximise the battery while this process automatically completes in the background, then you can find some great ones by following this link: https://bit.ly/SamsungUK-BatteryOptimisation ^DB at Samsung Support
I am really disappointed. I was upgrading from an s8 due to poor battery and storage running out, i was excited to have a better camera. The camera is the only thing ive used the s22 for. When i tried to switch everything over the NEW phone told me it didnt have enough storage. !!??!! Apparently sd cards are no longer a thing. Also there was no earphone socket meaning id have to shell out for some new accessory completely unnecessarily, a waste of plastic and a fake demand. In addition there's no button on the side to wake up/sleep the phone. I don't like it at all and am currently still using the old s8.
Having had an S9 for the last few years I recently upgraded, I spent weeks and weeks researching which phone I would get and eventually convinced myself that the newest, most expensive S22 must be the best.... how wrong I was. The battery life is the most shocking feature, its substantially worse than my S9 time wise (and physically smaller than what the S21 holds). I bring a powerpack or charging cable with me most places, because in a day of heavy use the battery will be spent in 8hrs. The phone also gets quite hot from time to time, it's never malfunctioned or given me warnings - just mildly disconcerting.
I bought this a week ago and I’m coming from iOS, so I have pretty high expectations.. my expectations were smashed as soon as I turned on the phone and set it up. Everything from the glorious 120hz motion smoothness to the great camera quality. Now I definitely feel like switching to #TeamGalaxy.

Camera is fantastic. Most features are good but same, same with all other Samsungs. Didn't mention no charger so took it home opened the box. Hey presto you need to buy a charger! Really!! Tried switching phone off, no its changed volume button and off button to power off! Why!? Stupid, leave it as it was! No SD slot, so I've lost loads of good photos from my previous phone! Really sentimental ones too. How!?? Disappointed! Works well when watched! I think most phones need to change the people who deside what's in what's out and changes etc.. as I feel they are out of touch with real people's needs!
The S22 has a phenomenal camera which captures great clarity and details in any scenario. The One UI is just amazing with all the software features and user experience. The 120 Hz AMOLED does a great job in providing a smooth experience. However, the device gets heated up quite easily from just simple social media surfing like Instagram within just a 30 mins to an hr of its use, which is quite disappointing stating the fact its a 749 quids flagship device. The heat causes the device to throttle a lot hence causing lags and slows down tasks, even the simple ones. Which in turn disrupts the experience.

I'm not happy with my new S22 at all. I previously had an S9, and the only reason I changed it was because the battery was beginning to go. My S22 is much slower loading pages; the screen is not responsive on many occasions, and has become completely stuck several times, requiring me to restart the phone. I can't do FB lives as the quality is pretty shocking, whereas on my S9 the picture was super clear and I didn't ever have connection issues. On the S22 my FB lives frequently say there are connection problems, and I usually get cut off. This is my critical to my business! I'm seriously unhappy with it and wish I had never swapped quite honestly. How can the S9 be so much better.....?
The S22 is a nice size phone and very comfortable and convenient to handle. It's very fast compared to the smaller budget Samsung J series phones that I'm used to. I just wish it had a memory card slot. I feel a bit lost without this. I miss having portable storage for my photos and documents. I'm not a fan of cloud based products and don't feel the need to pay a subscription when I can have it all on an inexpensive 'one off' payment memory card The only other gripe about this phone is that it comes pre-loaded with so many useless apps that I will never use, taking up more precious space of it's 128GB. Apart from that, it's a great phone...and probably the most expensive one I'll ever own.

I was sold for the sizing. The in hand feel is so perfect. This is my first Samsung and I am lovin' it. Night mode processed photos are awesome. The other thing is portrait colour point. 8K video recording. Would have loved a 90/120fps mode but that isn't necessary. Overall UI feel and performance is good. Cons: Battery Heating.

I used to love Samsung Galaxy but not on this occasion. First couple of week of use, phone was making static noises, sometimes people can hear me & at times not which was very frustrating. Samsung CS was not very helpful. After various self help online, managed to get it sorted. Couple of months later the problem recurred and have to reset the phone. Apart from the picture quality, the price is just a rip off. I have been using Samsung Galaxy since 2010and changed my phone 7times and they have all been very dependable. Never had any issues whatsoever bit s22 is a big disappointment.

Its so much faster comparing to my old Samsung Galaxy a70. The 120hz screen is good and the peformance when playing games is great. But i have had a problem. The phone keeps restarting on itself and i dont know why but except from that the phone is good

Got the phone for a month now. It was a 5 week wait and untold amount of time on the phone to Samsung to chase up why it hasn't been dispatched yet. As I said have it for month now, I must admit its so very disappointing. The software is very weak and unstable, everything works very clamsy and the battery life is absolutely dreadful. It's on the charger constantly and only last a few hours after a full charge . I also bought the watch 4 classic and it's just as disappointing. If you want to buy a premium device I would recommend to get one from their fruit logo competition.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feedback for your S22, Zoli. Firstly, we apologise that you were waiting a while for it to be delivered. Coming from the note series for about 8 plus years it's different not so much a bad way. The size has me out of wack both good and bad one I can reach the hole screen all the time no major movement of the hole hand to reach I struggle to get my panel out not that I use it much only for calculations helps with being dyslexic. I just wanted a simple phone this time round just use it for basic things I've not gone down the hole full features yet just got board of all that. Yes this phone works well camera works well its better than the s21 (partner has that phone) more colour to it dark rooms like lights off TV no flash on works very well, not done games yet only games I do is stream from my xbox not done it yet.

Thought as we already have S22 model phone (s22 ultra), hence bought S22 phone. But not what was expected, being having trouble with battery without any use of phone and also when charging the phone and using it the phone gets hot. Charged phone to full battery with not even half through the day without using the phone the battery would go down to 34% or less requiring to be re charged again. Has being in contacts with customer service several times only to say nothing is wrong with the phone. I love Samsung but wouldn't recommend this phone at all. Very disappointing.
The basics of the phone are fine although no better than S21. Biggest issue for me is that I travel abroad several times a year and every time I arrive at my foreign destination and again upon return to UK, I am unable to make or receive calls for 24 hours. Phone takes on a weird noise/crackling and no one can hear me or vice versa. Absolutely useless when I need to call for car on arrival either end. Looking at reviews, this seems to be a common problem with the S22. I phoned my provider, EE, and they said they would exchange the phone but only for another S22! If they've all got this problem, no point in getting another one! Very frustrating. Always had Samsung phones but now thinking of switching. Hate this model!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is the camera performance design battery 🔋 and display so basically every good word there is to describe the Samsung s22.

We're thrilled to see that you're loving your S22, especially how the pro-grade camera will let you capture the most amazing snaps. You'll be able to capture all the moments of your day, and the battery will ensure that the phone will be available to use no matter how long into the night that your day goes. The only thing more gorgeous than the photos and videos you'll be taking is the vibrant and responsive screen. ^DB at Samsung Support
Not a great start to be honest, I am currently in a battle to get it returned. I have had my device for 1 month and its not working, I can not take calls as it won't answer them and when it does its fuzzy, it hangs up automatically and cuts off when I try to dial. It's over heated to the point it was too hot to hold so shut it down. All this in one month and my provider is trying to send it off for repair instead of swaping the device as its clearly faulty. Its a shame as I loved my other Samsungs I just got the pick of a faulty bunch. I hope I get this resolved.

The phone is a handy size and, all in all, a good phone. However, the battery life isn't great, nor is the texting/calling facility. I found it difficult to text or call without an Internet signal for a few weeks and then realised a setting needed changing. I'm not the most technical person, so it took me a while to work this out and correct it. The phone must have been factory set up this way as I wouldn't have the know-how to set that, therefore I think it would help others, similarly less gifted technically, it it wasn't set up yhat way to begin with.

This phone is much better than the last one in particular the ring ton that vibrates as well as ringing also the camera appears to be better I have simpal needs from a phone 1/make and receive calls and texts 2/the camera in case I need to make photographic evidence before a specialist photographer turns up and there is a liklihood of the evidence being destroyed.3/compact and unobtrusive but still gives a good print.as an ex military photographer I am able to assess images from a professional perspective.to many extra process creating confusion.

Nice phone but a few bits I don't like. Fingerprint sensor on the front screen is a pain - I want a screen protector and it has taken 3 versions to get one which allows me to use fingerprint ID. Even now, it frequently fails to unlock, especially if I'm outdoors. Another negative is that there is no notification light, which is obviously designed for people who are always checking their phone, rather than (like me) leaving it on the side for hours. On the plus side, it is really good to be able to remove reflections as well as background from photos.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sorry to read that although you are enjoying the photo editing features, you are unhappy with your S22. I upgraded from the s20 and I love the the s22 but I have found the battery life is considerably lower than the s20, I have to charger my phone during the day now which I never had to do before, also I don't like the fact you can't use a memory card for extra storage so I have to be careful how much storage I'm using and then take photos/ videos off my phone and put them onto a memory stick so I can keep them. Overall the phone is fast and smart, I'm enjoying using it but wish there was more storage/ memory card supported and a better battery life.

This phone was a better buy over buying a iPhone. my first reason was you got better specs for the money. my Second reason usb-c my third reason 30x zoom camera my fourth reason better AOD my five reason customisation. only 3 star becouse phone doesn't come with superfast charging plug. I know you can use any 30watt plug but the Apple plug doesn’t support PPS. if you have upgraded your phone from Apple iPhone to a Samsung phone and the battery life is ok but it not great. I have to keep a portable charger on myself just in case.

Not impressed. Worst Samsung phone I have had. The speaker has broken so you cannot understand anything unless you have headphones on. But worst because it has no expandable memory the thing is full after a few photo's which isn't helpful on holiday with no wifi to download them to the cloud. Battery life is average. Only reason it got 2 stars is the camera, during day NOT night, is great and screen is excellent although let us see if it burns like they all do. Photo of speaker because it wouldn't let me submit a review without a photo..
We are sorry to hear that the S22 has not impressed you compared to your other amazing Samsung phones. I absolutely love it! Phones have been getting bigger for a while now, its nice to have one that's a better fit. I LOVE the colour choices I have the pink gold 256gb. It's fast, reactive, superior quality over other galaxy's I've had before. Its smooth sailing with the os very little bloat wear too which really helps. Calls are crystal clear and video calls over WiFi or data are hard to tell the difference between the two. Easy to set up and transfer information over and the camera looks good for the little I've used both rear and selfie (only had it a week). Battery life is pretty good. I can play games for a an hour or two hour before I need to start to think about charging it. Definitely worth getting Samsung have outdone themselves.

I've had various samsung phones for over a decade now & usually buy the latest flagship model. However I ended up buying the S22 after losing my old trusty S20 in Cyprus (it's still in Cyprus btw) So purchased the S22 sim free. Slightly smaller than my s20 but feels better built in hand especially with the metal bezel. Screen isn't curved so shouldn't be a fortune to replace if ever needed. Anyway it's fast, packed with features, functions & lots lots more. Would I recommend it?............That depends what you're upgrading from.

I recently purchased unbelievable performance switch from iOS
I recommended this product
very buggy, laggy, kicks me out off apps often, overheats quickly, i expected better. I remember when i first got my galaxy s9. it was so good. i still cant fault it. honestly the s9 is performed better than the s22. i expected the s22 to be a massive upgrade coming the s9 but its let me down severely. i dont this specific to my device but surely this is unacceptable from samsung. ive been a samsung customer for years and thought that id ever had the idea to even think of switching to apple but the s22 has put thought in my mind.
I'm about 4 weeks into the phone and I think average is fair. First of all, the realisation that there is no SD card slot is in my opinion a massive backward step. If you want to compete with iphones, try to better. Don't just copy. And on that subject, why follow suit with Apple and their decision to have a weird aux input. Again, not progress. The next gripe I have with the truly hit and miss finger print and facial recognition security. I've disabled fingerprint authentication now it was so rubbish. I admit to having a screen protector on but other phones can cope with it so why can't this one. I kept my S9+ for about 4 years. Don't think I'll still have this in 4 years. As a Samsung and Android fan, it's all a bit disappointing. Robin
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Rob! We are sorry to read that you are unhappy with your S22 5g due to the lack of an SD slot and auxiliary port. We are also sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the security of your phone, more specifically the Fingerprint and Facial Recognition. To resolve the problem with these features, we recommend you start by ensuring the phone's software is up to date. This can be done in Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. If the problem persists, you should then remove the saved fingerprint and face that you have saved in these recognition security settings and then re-add them. It may be due to an error when saving them initially. When it comes to the screen protector, this could also be the cause of the issue. Although we understand that you have been able to use screen protectors with other phones, due to the incredible Ultrasonic Fingerprint technology used in the S22 5G, you will need a screen protector that is specifically designed to work with that technology. You can purchase the correct protector here: https://bit.ly/SamsungUK-S225GScreenProtector. Should you continue to have any trouble with Fingerprint or Facial Recognition, please do not hesitate to contact our Technical Support Team directly. You can find their contact details and opening times here: https://bit.ly/SamsungUKSupport. ^CR at Samsung Support
Phone performs well, as you would expect from the latest flagship model with one exception - battery life. To be fair, the support guide suggests this improves after the first couple of weeks and that is true, I can now get about 14 hours on a 85% charge (I've capped the charging capacity to maintain battery life) rather than the 8 it was lasting initially. I've had to remove a couple of high-drain apps (Facebook being one if those). The phone itself is cute (bora purple), feels well-made and the screen is exceptional.
It's great to see that you are a fan of your new S22 5G and getting to experience first-hand the intelligent way in which the battery is capable of adapting itself to the way that you use your phone, so that you get the most from every charge. It's a thing of beauty from its stylish casing to its dynamic screen, and will effortlessly keep up with everything that you do with it. ^DB at Samsung Support
I'm becoming increasingly disappointed with Samsung. The latest phones (S20 and S21) have been below average in my view. Both get extremely hot when doing simple things (the S20 was enough to burn me), the materials used to make the housing lack quality (I had to replace my S20 screen twice, camera glass, back cover, and my S21 has developed a crack on the bottom corner of the phone, in spite of it being in a military grade case with back and front cover. The phone is also quite slow. All in all, its disappointing

Disappointing a premium price for a phone which is smaller, doesn't have a headphone jack, doesn't have a MicroSD card slot and doesn't come with a charger or headphones it even has a smaller battery. My s8+ had all of these things the only thing the s22 is better at than my old s8+ is having a slightly larger battery and better performance every other aspect is worse. (The s22 has a better camera but that's not important to me in the slightest I don't need a camera that's any better than what the s8+ had)
Prevously I owned a S22ultra.... the best phone I ever had, but it seemed too bog for me and I got this one...which seemed almost the same phone but smaller. Not true. A totallh different phone: from cameras to screen, it acts slower, pictures are different(lower quality), I struggle to unlock it sometimes as you have to put your finger perfectly straight on the very middle of the spot, if you change your look it won't recognize your face either. Sizewize it's ok, but there are massive differences to a flagship model, even if it's the latest mpdel. It takes very long to boot and it does not see all the bluetooth devices around it.... I feels more like an A series rather than S... I was more content about my S9+ model, but it did not suport updates anymore so I had to upgrade it...

I have an S10e and decided it was time to upgrade. I like the smaller mobiles so this S22 was the closest in size. It's a shame that Samsung have stopped the SD card slot as it limits you for storage. Because of this, I opted for the 256GB version. I like the feel of the phone, not cheap. I still haven't gotten round to using all of the features on the S22 as I am still using my S10e as well. The reason I haven't put my S10e away is because the S22 battery life isn't as good as I was hoping for and compared to the S10e, the S22 doesn't last as long which is disappointing to say the least. I'm not a gamer and just use the Internet to browse or scan a bit of social media. I don't have loads of apps running in the background either. So, the 3 stars is purely down to poor battery life.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us, Deborah. Although we are pleased to read that you are loving the sleek and durable design of your S22, we are sorry to read that you are unhappy with the lack of an SD card slot. Although 256GB of internal storage will take you far, if you realise you are starting to run low, we recommend taking advantage of cloud storage options such as Microsoft One Drive or Google Drive. When it comes to battery life, please don't feel disheartened just yet. Our S22 has innovative technology, that uses the first few weeks to learn your usage patterns, such as your most used apps and peak use hours. With this information, the phone will then adapt itself to ensure the best performance, and you will see a vast improvement in battery life. Went for the online exclusive graphite version.worth the wait. Phone is robust and able to take flat tempered glass protectors again. Big plus. Software is powerful, quick and more intuitive. Camera is outstanding. Battery life is pretty good and it with various charging options is back in play quicker. Games play well, office software is easy and it just looks and plays the part. I have had a lot of samsung S range phones in the past. This is by far the one that has exceeded expectations the most.

We are delighted to receive your awesome review of the S22 Ultra 5G! With such a stylish, durable design, powerful performance all around, long-lasting battery life and impeccable camera, we know that you will have many years of continued enjoyment! Thanks for the five stars! ^CR at Samsung Support
The s22 don't feel any different from using my old s9,only difference is the battery is slightly better than the s9, being 4 years old and the battery wasn't upto any good. If the battery was cheaper to change on the s9 I wouldn't of bothered changing phones as its not much of an upgrade. Auto spell check is still useless and the camera is not really much different. I hate to say it but think my next phone will be apple just for the auto spell check which makes typing so much quicker and easier.
Your new S22 5G is packed with some remarkable upgrades since your S9, so we hope you get the chance to fully explore it and discover them all for yourself. The great news regarding the spell check feature is that this has been significantly upgraded with Android 13, and our One UI 5.0, and makes writing messages more efficient, and so much easier to correct if you do make any typos. ^DB at Samsung Support
So in my rough 6-8months of having this phone I've picked up a few things, the fingerprint scanner doesn't work through my screen protector properly, the face recognition isn't consistent, there are camera features I'd like to have changed like keeping flash on the front camera whilst filming because it turns off, the camera in general is good, the user interface is decently fast but it slows down occasionally even with consistent restarts. And the battery could definitely do with lasting longer

Thank you for taking the time to share this review about your experience with the Galaxy S22 5G so far, Ethan. It's great to see that you are satisfied with the camera of your phone overall and that the phone is as fast as you expected. It's very similar in functions to Galaxy S10e. Unfortunately I find a lot of memory is consumed by Samsung and Google ready installed apps that I do not want or need; also Bixby. I miss being able to instal an SD card as I don't like my photos in either Google or Samsung cloud, so now I will need to download to external source more often. I had to purchase new thicker cables for charging, my previous Samsung cables wouldn't work. It's ok. I wouldn't rave about it. It works. My 10e gave up.

Thank you for sharing with us this comprehensive review about your experience with the Galaxy S22. We would love for you to enjoy and love your phone as much or even more than your previous Galaxy S10e, and we are ready to share with you the best tips to get the greatest experience out of it. The pre-installed applications and features of your phone are specifically added to the device to ensure you get the smartest performance while keeping the phone secure, versatile and with improve compatibility with other apps. You can easily free as much storage as you need from your phone by heading to: Settings > Device care > Storage > Delete any unwanted apps or files you don't need. We would also like to reassure you that the microSD card slot was removed from the phone to make space for the larger 3700mAh battery, and to make the phone lighter and easier to hold. As you mentioned, although we appreciate it is not always ideal, you can also extend the storage of your phone with useful services such as OneDrive or Samsung Cloud. Finally, the Galaxy S22, like the Galaxy S10e, also comes with a USB-C charging port which allows you to fast charge it at 25W, or even charge it wirelessly. We are confident you will enjoy your new device the more you use it as you continue discovering its smart functions which, we are sure, will make a positive difference every day. ^CL at Samsung Support
The camera is great and it's a nice size device for smaller hands. The downside to the smaller device means the battery doesn't last long especially if you're a heavy user with multiple apps, using navigation or maps etc. Even with reducing screen quality, the battery goes down very fast. But it's a lovely looking device and no other issues so far. The cost is rather high but that's for the Samsung name of course. Would be nice to be able to get rid of the Samsung bloatware too...
We like to provide a range of smartphones for a variety of different wants and needs, and your S22 5G can still provide all of the excellence that you'd expect from our range, particularly with the multi-lens camera, but its sleeker design helps it feel more comfortable for those happier with a more refined design. While the battery is capable of learning from how you use your phone, and adapting itself to your usage pattern, giving you eve more from every charge, this process can take a couple of weeks to complete. I am incredibly disappointed with S22 since the beginning. Poor, poor battery, lacks autonomy. I exchanged my old Android phone of 4-5 years which battery didn't last a day, to S22 that doesn't last a day. Samsung says there's nothing they can do, and I have to keep regretting buying this expensive phone that encases a below average battery. Don't buy it, that's my honest advice to everyone. There are plenty of better and cheaper alternatives on the market.
We are sorry to see that you are not happy with the battery of your Galaxy S22 5G, Simoes. I really like the size of the s22 I can operate it in 1 hand. The battery life is not what I am used to for a smaller device. My s10 fe was alot better. Phone cover and screen protector are a must on all phones now. It's shame they're is no sd card slot. For a refurbished phone or is working well I have no complaints apart from the battery. Top end phone manufacturers need to think about putting in a many features in their phones when they are charging about of money.

Its definitely a step up over my S10. Its faster and smoother. While I did love the aesthetic of the screen curving around the edge, the phone's easier to use without it. I do wish that Samsung still made the LED back covers that you could get for the S10 and S20 because they were really impressive. The flip case that's available for this just isn't the same. Overall quite happy, though if Samsung wanted to upgrade me for free, I also wouldn't complain.. hint hint
Great to see that you're enjoying your upgrade to the sleek and speedy S22 5G! The 4nm processor keeps this phone running at unbelievable speeds, handling any task you throw its way with ease. I have been a loyal Samsung phone user for two decades. This has been a choice and right up to my last phone, Galaxy S9+, I could not have been happier. Thus phone; S22, is a complete let down. Slow to load web pages & emails. Connection is dire at times. I still use the S9+ on a PAYG similar card on the same EE network as this S22. I can read and reply to emails on the S9+ while this thing is still loading the email app. Very, very disappointing from you Samsung.

The battery life goes so quickly, I have to charge it twice a day. It uses around 20% overnight when im not using it & all apps are closed. My 2 yr old S20FE lasted much longer. The phone itself seems a lot more laggy & I don't even use it that much. The camera is OK. The phone itself feels nice & easy to use but I wish I'd kept my old phone 😔 the mobile data doesn't kick in when WiFi is dodgy so I have to switch off the WiFi to "force" the data to work.

I replaced my old S20 after two years and the only thing that was really bothering me was the battery life. If anything the S22 is worse than a aged S20!! I wish I'd just bought a new battery and not wasted my money. If I'm going to the gym for an hour I need my S22 to be at minimum 40% charge. One hour! Totally useless phone and will be switching to Apple. The camera is okay. Or it would be if the phone ever had enough battery life to use it....

It's probably a very good phone but I've been forced to buy a replacement for my Blackberry due to the closure of 3G. It's a slipey slidey phone and I don't like it. All I want to do is send and receive texts and calls - NOTHING ELSE. It won't accept my finger print and I have to keep writing my password. I cannot easily access contacts, Messages and calls without having to be faced with lots of 'stuff' I'm not interested in.

I'm very happy with the phone itself, but very disappointed that the battery is so weak I have to charge it 3 times a day! I wouldn't have bought it had I known it would be so bad. So thanks but no thanks, I would have rather paid a bit more and get a decent charged up battery than having to constantly charge it, the option wasn't available. But the promise was good, and it's far from it. But other than that the phone is great.

Its a pretty good phone. I haven't had any issues with it really. Just a few annoying things I can find. It's too east to take a screenshot, I take many of the lock screen. Whe it does an update, be sure to switch it off and on again otherwise it can use 50% battery in 2hrs without over using it. 3rdly its slows down really badly when battery is getting very low. Overall great phone though and I really love it.

Seems especially great after upgrading from a cheap Motorola, everything just works so well and the camera is excellent (especially the telephoto). Previous reviews mentioning bad battery are obviously by people who haven't given it time for the adaptive battery to work, it's definitely on the weaker side but more than usable. I also got it cheaper on a student discount and with trade in which is great.

I got this as my last phone died. I've consistently had Samsungs over the years only straying once or twice to Nokia or Sony (I am getting on a bit so I've had a fair few phones) I must say it's not my favourite by a long stretch. The call quality is poor and regularly cuts out. Today it decided to turn off mid phone call when fully charged. Battery life is extremely poor for a.bramd new phone

A nice product. Fast, loads of memory space.Fingerprint sensor works well, but not through an tough glass screen protector. However the screen seems very tough in itself. The android auto seem to be not compatible with my Peugoet car however. MyS9 worked as expected however. There is lots of chatter online about this. I bought it refurbished from a well know online central american retailer.

I upgraded from a galaxy S20+ and don't think I made the right decision. The battery life is poor, my 2 year old S20+ was lasting a lot longer, even accounting for difference in battery size. Similar use, I don't get much more than 12-14 hrs out of this one compared to over 24hrs with the 2 year old S20+. I have also found the S22 to be very glitchy, with social media apps often crashing.
The phone its looking amazing. I love the colour options, amazing as always. Just one thing I don't like it's that the phone is not coming with the charging head ,only with cable with is both sides type c , so can't be used with the charging head from previous samsung and the battery doesn't seem to last as long as my previous phone ( samsung s20 fe ). Apart from that the phone its good.

It's not a bad little phone it's a bit slow but nothing major battery life could be better when compared to other phones it has some handy features like the wag it can lock when you're playing a game and the game will continue to play so that's handy when you're on a game that's not all about constantly doing stuff and involves waiting good speaker volume and can take good quality photos

Had issues with a few glitches in the phone, which for the price is very annoying. GPS will just stop working intermittently, I'll be driving with directions and it'll just stop. Every time I start the ine it says something about sim card 2 not in. Battery life for normal usage you won't get a full day out of it in my experience. Had the Huawei p30 pro previously, a much better phone.
Would rate it 5 stars if not for one. Small. Thing. The front camera does not have a 0.5 feature, which is so annoying. I love the 0.5 camera, i switched from an iPhone 13 to this, and while it id so much better, the camera is what i miss, amazing quality on the camera though, it is really great in terms of quality, totally recommened if you dont care about having 0.5 front camera.

I like the smaller size which fits my hand well. The phone is well designed and comfortable to hold in one hand. The performance is great, apps run very smoothly. Thank you for both your review and recommendation, Jozsef, and it's great to see that the design of your S22 5G is fitting your own particular needs. We do aim to accommodate as many of our customers as possible, as we understand that not everyone wants or needs the same thing. The more slender size doesn't mean that it has to give up any of the superb performance that our Galaxy range is known for, as its powerful processor will keep up with everything that you do. The good is news is that the battery is intelligent enough to learn your daily usage pattern and adapt itself accordingly, so the more that you use it, the more you'll see its battery performance improve. ^DB at Samsung Support
I've had this handset a little while and and I had to readjust as its much smaller than my previous handset. It looks great and feels good in the hand-texting gets easier once you've adjusted. However, it does lag and freeze up often without the handset being hot. Pictures are decent but I think I'm biased coming from a Samsung A905G. Overall so far the handset is okay.

Fantastic, and reliable. My previous galaxy S7 was the worst, most unreliable phone I have ever owned- this is amongst the best. Good design and performance. The display is sharp and clear. The battery drains fairly quickly, but the recharge time is excellent. The camera is good, but Samsung phones always struggle with night photography . That's still got to improve.

First impressions of S22 were great - fabulous display, good photos and very smooth and fast in use. The device has one critical flaw though - the battery life! After nearly 2 weeks daily use, the battery drain issue showed no sign of improving and I returned the device. (Device sitting on idle overnight in night mode would deplete a fully charged battery to around 75% in 7 hours, never got 24 hours out of battery and usually felt need to top up early evening as level fell below 25%.) I thought I just had a rouge device and was about to get an S22 Ultra on contract until I searched online and discovered that numerous customers with Exynos equipped handsets are experiencing similar battery battery issues and a lot of other prolems too. I have been great fan of Samsung handsets for over a decade but have concluded that buying any of current S22 range is just going to be a source of frustration and disappointment.
Thank you for your feedback, Rich. We regret to see that you were less than satisfied with the performance of the battery for your S22 5G. Like with all of our recent smartphone releases the S22's battery is designed to intelligently learn from your daily usage pattern, so it's able to anticipate how you use your phone, and adapt itself accordingly. By hibernating apps that are less likely to be used at certain times, it helps to give you more out of every charge, and sharpen up the whole performance of the phone. This process can take a few weeks to fully complete, but we can understand your decision if you did not feel you were going to get the performance levels you were hoping for, and do hope that you do continue to keep exploring our range again in the future. ^DB at Samsung Support
Battery & charging is now much better than my last phone, the reason for the change. I like the design and the display is clear & bright. I find the camera easy to use though have not had the chance to explore the many things it can do. The overall performance is very good, however I do miss the indication for missed calls & text messages which I had on the old phone.

I chose it for its size and that's fine. The material quality is excellent. The Samsung ecosystem also works well for everyday use. However, the battery drains very quickly. Even with very light daily use, there is still 40% left in the battery. And with active music listening it lasts half a day. Charging speed is disappointing, with a current rate of about 5 years.

This is my first and last Samsung the battery sucks and destroys the experience. When I don't use it the battery won't even last a day and when I do use it 4 hours later its dead. I spent 45 pounds on a speed plug and that's now not working so it takes over 2 hours to charge and you get 4 not great battery life. The features tho are amazing if you could only use them
The perils of buying online... The S22 feels and looks like a Nokia 640, it feels cheap and nasty the overall design feels flawed you can't rest it flat on a table, it rocks because of the cameras on one side. The battery life is pitiful and after 6 months of moderate use has worse longevity than my old S10, which by comparison felt good quality. Very disappointed
I love the design of the phone, but it gets so hot and does not hold its battery well at all. Most days it has ran out of battery before 5pm. I am always charging it! Without realising the colour has come off the dge of the screen, have not dropped it I assume something has rubbed against it. Would not recommend this version. Nice colour phone and a decent camera.

Samsung phones have been having more and more issues and this one is no exception. Never even dropped it next to water but after 6 months of using it I get random water warnings that make no sense. I've had several Samsungs throughout my life and the overall quality and durability is decreasing, as the past 3 models all had this issue. The camera is very good.
When I lose network connection, I often need to restart my phone to reconnect. It doesn't do it automatically itself. I've never had this issue with any other phone/brand. I'm not sure if it's just my phone or any S22 or other Samsung phones, but it can be inconvenient at times. Other than that, it's a great phone, easy to use, good features, size, and camera!
Thank you for sharing your experience with the S22! We're delighted to read you're enjoying your phone and have found it a breeze to use, and have been amazed by the size and incredible camera! We are however sorry to learn you've experienced an issue with network connectivity. Apart from the camera quality being the only thing I've enjoyed about this phone, the rest has been abysmal. The call quality is poor, the amount of times I have to restart the device to complete simple tasks is outrageous. This has most definitely made me think twice about weather I'll go back to samsung in the future. I am very dissatisfied with the s22.
I've had the s22 for 4 months now. My old 6 year old sony xz premium phone had the same battery life towards the end of its use. There are too many power options, seems like samsung knew about the battery on the s22 and tried to make adjustments to it. They don't work though. The dast charger is good but weigh that against how many times you use it.
Yes, I have had the pleasure of this Samung Galaxy S22 for nearly 1 month. The feedback I can express is: Simple to use (due to preference of Android mobiles) Faster applications Minimising screens & able to swap between different screens Nice & compact size Generally speaking a very practical & efficient mobile for the price & use of my needs.
We're over the moon to see you're loving the Galaxy S22! The stunning display is perfect for watching films, playing games or looking back on the photos you've taken with the amazing camera! The speedy processor is fast enough to handle any app and can multitask with ease! We're glad to see you're finding the design and form factor nice and compact too! ^CH at Samsung Support
The S22 is slow and unresponsive. App crash all the time, mobile signal is terrible and data is even worse. I work nationwide and find it impossible to stream music whilst driving as data signal is so poor. I miss calls as they go straight to voicemail even though my signal is showing bars. Had smasung for years, this will definitely be the last!
My 3rd Samsung phone and this is a great all-around performance phone. The camera is great, and the 5G is a lot quicker than the previous 4G phones I have had. It's just like having a mini computer in your pocket. The only thing I have to say bad is that it only comes with a charging cable and no plug apart from that the phone itself is great.

We are delighted to see that you are enjoying everything amazing the new Galaxy S22 5G can do for you, Sunderland! Your third Samsung device offers you incredible performance with the 4nm processor, 120Hz display and 5G connectivity to keep you up to speed with everything you love doing and for the full day. The best features of phone, tablet and laptop are all here with your new device ready to upgrade your life to the next level of smartness! ^CL at Samsung Support
Impossible to use fingerprint scanner with any screen protector. Tried 3 types of screen protector. Face recognition works 50% of the time. On off button set too low on the side for access when using car mount. Wireless charging function does not allow Magnetic car mounts. Otherwise very good camera and works well with galaxy watch.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Although we are very pleased to read you love the camera quality and seamless connectivity to your Galaxy Watch, we are sorry that certain features do not meet your expectations. The under-display fingerprint scanner requires a specific type of screen protector to ensure it works perfectly every time. We recommend purchasing the EF-US901CTEGWW. You can use this model number to purchase the screen protector from several reputable online retailers. When it comes to Facial Recognition, there may have been an issue when setting it up, so we suggest disabling the feature, and then setting it up again from scratch. Ensure you are in good lighting and follow the instructions to the letter. Please also check that your phone's software is up to date. This will ensure that your phone's security and all its features are working at optimum performance levels. As for the design, we appreciate your insight regarding the button placement and mounting ability. We will be sure to pass along your feedback for future development. If you continue to experience an issue with the phone's unlocking features, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Technical Support Team who will be happy to help. I updated from Galaxy S10+ to S22 in August. Always loved the Galaxy phones but find the S22 doesn't have the features my old S10+ had. Foe example, I can't update software using data, have to find a WiFi spot as I don't have WiFi at home, also, there isn't a delivery report after sending a text message. Otherwise, love my new Galaxy!
Love the phone! Only wish Samsung would make lighter (120g and lower) phones that are comfortably wide enough as I have arthritis and struggle holding this sometimes. I know alot a other disable people who prefer Samsung but can't physically get one due to the same reasons. Please can Samsung help us young disabled minorities fit in.

I love the phone and love a lot of stuff about it but when you actually push the phone it becomes slow which is very annoying I went out with the phone the first time I got it and took a lot of photos and videos and the battery died I was shocked because I've never had a phone die on me while I've been out in ages, then the phone lags when you open the camera app sometimes so you miss out on taking a picture or video of something which is very very annoying the battery life is terrible tbh after going from a s10 lite I did not expect the battery life to be this bad I can't go out taking pictures and have enough battery to come home with without having to charge it mid day or charge it on the way home which makes the phone hot and makes it slow to use when you're trying to use the camera while it's charging, another thing is that overnight the battery goes down by like 10% which is stupid because its not getting used but whatever it charges quick enough.
I have had lots of Samsungs over the years and this comes in a close second to the worst phone I have had which is the Galaxy Flip. I am really disappointed in the camera quality and battery life. Not worth it if you are looking for a new phone. If you just need it to call, message and have as a second phone then it does the job.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. When it comes to the battery we recommend allowing two weeks for the phone to learn your usage patterns initially and for the battery to adapt to that usage. Good phone and in excellent condition. This was a significant upgrade from my old Galaxy S7, so it was fairly easy to transfer all my old files and apps to the new phone. Though every new phone takes a bit of getting used to, I found I was quite familiar with all of this phones additional features within a couple of days.
The S22 is nice phone, seem, sadly the battery does not hold up & I find I need to recharge frequently & if I play any games then life depletes even faster, One hour playing minor game can use 20% ? Other than the poor battery life the phone is very satisfactory, but I now wish I had paid a little bit more for the S24 !!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of the S22 with us. Although it's wonderful to see those four stars, we are sorry to read that you are finding the battery to be less than satisfactory. If you have purchased the phone recently, we recommend allowing two weeks for the phone to learn your usage patterns initially and for the battery to adapt to that usage. So far I only have the one issue that I do feel should be addressed. When charging or using for a prolonged period of time the phone quickly warms up and over heats. This results in lagging and stalling at time and nothing worse worth a warning popping up but it does still get very hot, seemingly more so when in a case.

Camera is amazing, battery is abysmal. It won't last a full day without being connected to a cable and drains fast despite switching off background apps. I also have difficulities connecting to the internet - proved by taking my SIM out, putting into my Samsung A12, which is x5 faster. And my old phone only has 4G.

I've had big screened samsungs for the last 5 years and recently decided to go for a smaller samsung as I am now using a tablet. Best choice ever! The size of the phone means I no longer feel something heavy in my pockets. The phone itself seems be as fast as any previous phones I've had, it does everything I need.

Thank you for such incredible feedback, Tony! It's awesome to see that you have found your perfect match in the S22 5G due to its lightweight design, and thanks to such a tiny bezel, nearly the entire front surface is a stunning, crystal-clear display! Enjoy! ^CR at Samsung Support
I've now had a number of Samsung phones. This has been the best so far. Battery is good. Quality of pictures is good but camera positioning does capture fingers if you're not careful. Only other issue I had to begin with was the volume and on off are the other way around so I kept changing the volume accidentally.

Upgraded to s22 from s10 Like the 3x camera zoom and low light performance. 5G will probably be useful, but no obvious benefits yet. Disappointed to lose the heart rate monitor! Battery life is better (at least for now) Like volume control on rhs Overall, not wowed as I have been with previous phone upgrades.
While we're pleased to see that you are loving some features of your S22, Frank, including the adaptability of the camera, and the all day battery, we regret seeing that you are not loving it as much as you were expecting. We've packed plenty of new tech and new ideas into it, so we're confident that you'll come to love it more once you've had a chance to fully explore everything that it can do! ^DB at Samsung Support
Battery life not great. The speaker has a problem, as soon as the temperature changes and the phone gets slightly cold the speaker starts to crackle and go distorted, it has also happened at room temperature. Normally leaving it in your pocket to warm up works . All the other features are good as you'd expect.
Not impressed at all, signal receiver is as deaf as a post, end up using more wifi. I don't like the operating systems quirks. Sometimes screen does not respond to swipe or touch. I just can't gel with this device and I am a 100% android user. My old Xperia XZ premium was a more reliable phone in my opinion.
We can confirm that these are not the levels of performance that we'd expect you to be having with your S22, nor would we expect you to be having any of the issues that you have described, so we'd like to assist with getting it working exactly as it should be in all areas. We'd recommend speaking to our Customer Support team so that they can discuss these issues with you, and go through all available options. Replaced an S7 that I'd had for 5 years and been excellent but starting to show its age. Love that the S22 is virtually the same size but screen display size is larger. The only thing I don't like is lack of headphone socket. I have Bluetooth headphones but the socket is a good back-up for long flights etc.

Thank you for your fantastic review! We're delighted to see that the S22 has served as an excellent upgrade from your trusty S7, offering a larger display while maintaining a familiar size. The bigger and brighter display makes this phone the perfect companion for work and play! We understand customers may prefer to use wired headphone options, which is why we've included the ability to use a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone adaptor to allow you to use your headphones whilst still enjoying the slimmer build a standalone USB-C port provides. You can source these adaptors from reputable third-party retailers. Thank you for choosing us again; we know this brilliant phone will continue to wow you! ^AP at Samsung Support
Takes good pictures. Baterry lasts a reasonable amount of time even with the location and the buetooth on. However, it gets hot fast, cannot handle multiple windows at one time. It is small and you will struggle seeing well if you need reading glasses. The fact that it doesn't have a pen is a disadvantage.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hi. This fone takes very very good. But it is slow update upload or download. Plus the fones signal strength is between one and two bars. Vocie calls are very very Clare. One more thing.. The battery doesn't last very long and once I get the 15% warning it dies within 5 minutes. Thank you for listening.
While you are enjoying some aspects of your S22 5G, such as clear calls, it's a shame to see that you are facing some issues with your phone. Signal can be impacted by a number of factors, such as location and your Network provider's area coverage. We do have some steps you can follow to help improve your signal, which can be found here: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/what-to-do-if-you-have-a-poor-signal-and-cannot-make-calls-on-your-samsung-galaxy-device/ Due to the amount of data included in a software update, it can take some time to perform, depending on your Wi-Fi strength. When performing an update, make sure that you have a strong Wi-Fi connection. This phone has an unbelievable 3700 mAh battery, which is capable of up to 19 hours of video playback time on one charge, making it incredibly capable of supporting you through the day and more. During the initial usage period, the battery life will be lower than usual, due to the optimisation process. Please check out the following link to find out more about your device's battery: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/what-to-do-if-the-battery-of-my-new-phone-seems-to-be-draining-faster/ If you need any further support, please don't hesitate to reach out. Quite easily the worst samsung phone I've had! mainly due to the battery. spoke to others with the s22 and they have said the same. The is awful. Use to have a laugh with iPhone users about their poor battery life but the tables have defiantly turned. Cant wait to get rid of it when the 24 comes out.
We are sorry to read that you are not fully satisfied with your Galaxy S22 because its battery life is not meeting your expectations, Jaye. We would like to confirm that the intelligent 3700mAh battery of this phone may be shorter than expected during the early days as the phone optimises itself by learning and adjusting to your usage habits. The battery life will then improve dramatically after a few weeks of use. We would also like to share with you this link where you will find great tips on how to make the most of the battery of your phone immediately: http://bit.ly/Samsung-BatteryLifeGuide In the meantime, If you have any questions about how to get the best experience out of your Galaxy S22, or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our Support Teams who are always ready to help. I have got the s25 ultra, its absolutely amazing, honestly I was considering the 17pro max, pixel 10 pro xl, and the s25 ultra for over 3 months, and did lots of comparisons, all were good products, but by far the s25 ultra blows everything out of the water, its the king of all phones. Looks amazing, super snappy and powerful with the smpdragon 8 elite Gen 4, the best camera in smartphones, absolutely polished samsung one ui, honestly I am amazed for days, superb AI …functionality, I have been gaming all day it barely gets warm, superb display and battery performance is better because of the more efficient cpu, honestly glad I made the right decision and would do it again.smartphones, absolutely polished samsung one ui, honestly I am amazed for days, superb AI … functionality, I have been gaming all day it barely gets warm, superb display and battery performance is better because of the more efficient cpu, honestly glad I made the right decision and would do it again.
