  • The Closed Captions function is only available on programs that support broadcast captions.

Open the Closed Captions

  • When you watch TV, the CC (Closed Captions) feature can be enabled and moved to a desired position on your screen.
  • If you are using a Smart Remote control to turn on captions, press the Home button and navigate to Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Accessibility.
  • Then, select Accessibility > Caption Settings.
  • Select Caption and enable the setting.
  • Now, captions can be seen on your screen.

Relocate the Captions

Separate the Closed Captions and Open Captions

  • If the CC and open captions provided by broadcasting companies overlap, you can separate the position of the two captions.
  • Open Captions are subtitles that are a part of the video, so you cannot turn these on or off. On the other hand, Closed Captions can be turned on or off.
  • To separate the position of the two captions, Navigate to Accessibility > Caption Settings.
  • Select Separate Closed Caption and set it to On.
  • The CC and open captions are separated.

Adjust the size of the Closed Captions

  • If the caption size is too small or if you need more contrast between the CC and screen background, you can adjust the size or font color accordingly.
  • Go to Accessibility > Caption Settings.
  • Select Digital Caption Options to change the size, caption background color, and caption font color.
  • To reset the CC settings to default factory settings, go to Caption Settings > Digital Caption Options.
  • Select Return to Default.
