Update your Samsung Gaming Monitor using a USB device

Samsung is continuously improving the stability and performance of the Gaming Monitor lineup through the release of new software versions. Updating your monitor’s software can prevent potential screen issues and will ensure the device runs smoothly. You can use the instructions in this guide to update your gaming monitor’s software to the latest version using a USB device.

Note: For Wi-Fi-enabled models, software updates can be performed automatically when the network is connected.

To update your Samsung Gaming Monitor using a USB device, please follow the instructions below:

1 Using a web browser on a PC, navigate to Samsung.com, and then hover over Support at the top of the page.
2 Select Manual and Software, and then enter your Gaming Monitor’s model code in the search bar. You can also select a product category to find your specific model.

3 Select the latest update file for your model, and then download the update file to your PC.

Note: Please format your USB device to FAT32 before downloading the file.

4 After unzipping the downloaded update file on your PC, save all of the files (.bin or .img format) to the top level folder of your USB device.

Note: Do not rename the file once it has been downloaded. For smart Gaming Monitors, save the unzipped folder to the top level folder of your USB device. Be careful not to duplicate the same folder.

5 Disconnect the USB device from the PC and connect it to the USB service port on the back of your Gaming Monitor.

Note: The terminals on your monitor may vary depending on the model. For example, depending on the model, you may need to use a USB-A to USB-C adapter.

6 Turn on your monitor, and then use the Jog button to navigate to Menu > Support > Software Update.

Note: The appearance and location of the Jog button and Menu may vary by model.

7 The update will proceed automatically. While the update is in progress, the monitor will automatically turn off and on again. The monitor may restart more than once. When the update is complete and the monitor restarts, the update pop-up message will no longer appear.

Note: Do not operate or power off the monitor until the update is complete.

8 When the update is complete, unplug the monitor's power cord and plug it back in.
9 Finally, use the Jog button to navigate to Menu > Support > Information and check the updated software version.

Notes:

  • If the update fails, the monitor will automatically retry the update.
  • Video and audio settings may be reset to their defaults after the software update.
