Last Update date : 2024-03-18

"No Display" issue on a Samsung TV refers to a problem where the television is not showing any picture or video. It might be caused by the power supply, an improper input or source selection, or a fault with the TV's internal hardware or software.

Check if the TV is on or off:

  • Press the Home button on your remote.
  • If the TV showed the menu, then the source is not correct or it is not receiving a signal.
  • If the TV did not show anything, this might mean your TV is not ON and might be not working. Check the guide on TV not turning ON.

Samsung TV "No Display" issue:

1 Check if the TV is set to the same source as the external device.

This can be done by accessing the input or source menu on the TV's remote control and checking to see if the correct input is selected.

2 Reset the TV.

Unplug the TV from the power outlet and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on.

3 Check the external device.

Make sure the external device (such as a cable box or streaming device) is on and properly configured.

4 Test the HDMI cable.

To start, make sure that the TV's source is still set to the HDMI setting for the cable you want to test. Select Support from the Settings menu. Choose Device Care, then Self Diagnosis, and finally Signal Information. Select HDMI Cable Test, followed by Start Test.

Replace the cable if the test indicates that it is faulty. There is no need for service.

Note: Certain TV models do not have the test function, and some models have it after updating their software.
