Consider the space you need

When it comes to refrigerator capacity, you should be realistic. How much food does your family consume each week? Is it mostly frozen goods or fresh produce? Assessing your average consumption as well as what types of groceries you purchase is a good way to find out how much storage and what type of storage space you'll need for your family.

- Household size : The most obvious factor to your capacity needs is the size of your household, namely, how many mouths there are to be fed at every meal.

- Grocery shopping habits : Depending on the size of your family, or the lack thereof, there are substantial differences in grocery shopping, food consumption and storage patterns.

- Frozen food / fresh produces : Depending on how you cook and what ingredients you use, the type of refrigerator and capacity will always prove more and more relevant in the long-run.

What size do refrigerators come in?

Large

- 90cm wide and above

Large refrigerator

How to measure for a new refrigerator?

Not sure how much space is needed around a new refrigerator? Always check a refrigerator is going to fit the space that’s available by measuring the dimensions of the refrigerator as well as your kitchen space carefully.

1. Width, Depth, Height

For exterior dimensions, it’s important to factor in the more forgettable components, such as handles, doors and compartments when fully opened, any bulkiness in the back, etc. If you’re positioning your refrigerator next to a wall, leave 5~7cm on the hinge side of the door.
