Samsung Redefines Comfort in Extreme Mountain Conditions at The Oasis, a Member of Radisson Individuals.

Mussoorie, Uttarakhand

Project Overview

Nestled in the serene hills of Mussoorie, this premium resort was designed to provide guests with a luxurious and comfortable stay experience throughout the year. With breathtaking views of the Himalayan range, our aim was to match the natural beauty of the surroundings with consistent indoor comfort across all seasons. The goal was to upgrade the existing infrastructure and create a system capable of handling harsh winters, fluctuating temperatures and evolving hospitality demands. The HVAC system needed to be robust, flexible and suitable for a variety of applications, from multi-sized guest rooms to large banquet spaces.

Challenges

The Samsung Solution

VRF System Designed for Extreme Conditions with AI-Driven Defrosting

DVM S2 delivers reliable performance even in temperatures as low as -25°C, ensuring uninterrupted comfort for guests during harsh winter conditions. During heating, ice buildup on outdoor units can disrupt heat exchange, necessitating defrost operations that interrupt heating and temporarily affect indoor comfort. Samsung Active AI Defrost technology effectively addresses this issue by analysing system data such as air resistance, frequency and cycle. This enables precise defrosting while maintaining consistent indoor comfort.

Versatile Indoor Unit for Aesthetics and Functional Needs

Versatile indoor units, such as ducted, AHU, 360 cassette and 1-way cassette, offer both functional efficiency and aesthetic appeal. It seamlessly integrates into diverse environments, from swimming pool to restaurants, ensuring optimal comfort and design harmony.

Advanced Control System

The Guestroom Management Module automates AC operation by using key-tag detection to save energy and reduce costs. It features direct control of indoor units and synchronised operation of window usage. The module also provides error-state output notifications through relay contacts for efficient monitoring. Additionally, it enables centralised monitoring and management of the entire system from a single location, improving operational efficiency and simplifying maintenance.

Integrated VRF AHU solution for Large space

The Samsung AHU Kit connects DVM S2 outdoor units to air handling units (AHUs), resulting in saving energy while improving performance and efficiency. It also ensures effective conditioning of banquet halls and large areas.

Conclusion

The transition to the Samsung DVM S2 system delivered reliable and comfortable heating and cooling, even in extreme winter conditions. Guests now enjoy consistent heating and cooling without fluctuations, which enhances their overall satisfaction. Moving from a boiler-based system to a centralised HVAC solution has also simplified operations and increased energy efficiency. Additionally, the ability to control all units from a single interface allows for quicker responses and improved system management.

Why this matters for you?

For hotels and resorts, particularly in challenging climates, an effective HVAC system is essential for enhancing guest experiences. A failure in heating or cooling during extreme weather can negatively affect reviews, occupancy rates and overall brand perception. The Samsung VRF system (DVM S2) ensures that your property maintains consistent comfort, operational efficiency, and reliability regardless of the weather conditions.
