How to delete pre-installed apps on your Samsung Galaxy device

Some pre-installed apps on your Samsung Galaxy device can be deleted, while essential apps such as Phone, Messages, Contacts, Gallery, and My Files cannot because they are required for basic device functions. If an app cannot be deleted, you can hide it from the Home and Apps screens or disable it if the option is available. This guide explains how to delete, hide, show, disable, and enable pre-installed apps.

Note: The hide apps option is available for all pre-installed apps, but the disable option is available only for some apps.

How to delete a pre-installed app

For pre-installed apps that can be deleted, you can delete them. For apps that cannot be deleted, use the hide apps feature so they do not appear on the Home and Apps screens. Follow the steps below to delete a pre-installed app.

01. Touch and hold the app you want to delete, for example, the Music app.

How to hide a pre-installed app

If the app cannot be deleted, you can hide it from the Home and Apps screens.
