How to find the useful features of the Samsung keyboard on your Galaxy phone

Smart Typing Features: The Samsung Keyboard offers smart typing options, including text and emoji suggestions, to enhance user convenience.

Emoji and Sticker Integration: As you type, emojis and stickers automatically appear in the toolbar, allowing quick insertion into messages without manual searching.

Customization Options: Adjust smart typing settings by navigating to Settings > General management > Samsung Keyboard settings.

Toggle Options: Enable or disable specific smart typing features by toggling the switches next to the desired options under the Smart typing menu.

 

Smart typing and AI options
  • Writing assist or Chat assist: New AI features can be configured here. Tap Chat translation, Composer, or Style and grammar to enable or disable Galaxy AI options on the keyboard.
  • Drawing assist: AI Drawing assist can be configured here. Tap Sketch matching strength to control how closely the generated image matches the original drawing.
  • Predictive text: The keyboard will suggest words for you as you are typing. Just select the word to add it to your message.
  • Suggest emojis: The keyboard will suggest emojis that match what you are typing.
  • Suggest stickers while typing: The keyboard will suggest stickers that match what you are typing.
  • Auto replace: The keyboard will replace words for you while you are typing. You can tap the Spacebar or Enter key to use the new word.
  • Suggest text corrections: The keyboard will automatically correct grammar and phrases for you. Suggestions will be marked with green underlines. You can also tap Manage apps to choose which apps will receive text corrections.
  • Text shortcuts: Add your own shortcuts for frequently used phrases.
  • More typing options: Adjust additional preferences like Auto capitalize and Auto spacing.

If you went a little overboard with customizing the keyboard, you can easily return it to its original state. From Settings, search for and select Samsung Keyboard, and then swipe all the way to the bottom. Tap Reset to default settings, and then select from the following:

Reset the keyboard
  • Reset keyboard settings: Reset your keyboard settings to their defaults. This will not remove downloaded languages.
  • Erase personalized predictions: Erase data that is used for word predictions. This will also remove learned words.
  • Erase personalized touch recognition data: Erase touch recognition data.
  • Clear cache: Clear the keyboard´s cached data.

Make sure to tap Erase when prompted. You can select all three options if you prefer to reset everything.

Instead of touching the delete button when deleting text you typed, you can swipe left on the keyboard with two fingers to undo it. If you want to restore the deleted text again, swipe right on the keyboard with two fingers to restore the deleted text.

 

Undo: Swipe left.

Redo: Swipe right.

There is an easier and faster way to change the keyboard input type settings when using the Samsung keyboard. No need to open settings from the Home screen to find it. If you want to change the keyboard format while using the Samsung Keyboard, follow the steps below.

Step 4. Enter text and tap the Translate button.

Step 5. Ready, it will show you the translation.

If you use the Samsung Pass on your Galaxy phone, you can conveniently take out the Samsung Pass and use it while using the Samsung keyboard. Follow the steps below to easily and conveniently enter information stored safely in your Samsung Pass.

Step 1. Tap More options (the three horizontal dots) in the upper right corner of the keyboard.

Step 2. Select the Samsung Pass icon

Step 3. As soon as your identity is verified, the account number saved in Samsung Pass will be displayed. Tap the account number and it will be entered in the text window. In addition, other card information, addresses, and IDs and passwords can also be stored and recalled at any time.
