How to transfer data from an iPhone or iPad to a new Galaxy device with Smart Switch

When you turn on your Galaxy device for the first time, you will see a welcome page. Tap “iPhone or iPad”. Choose a Wi-Fi network, set your Google account and the SIM card you would like to use and get started with Smart Switch.

  • Please note that to transfer data using Smart Switch: Both devices must have a minimum of 500MB free space in internal memory.

  • Before you start, find out if your device is compatible with Smart Switch. If you are transferring data from a non-Galaxy device, you will need to download Smart Switch from the Google Play Store.

Step 1: Connect

Connect your new Galaxy device to your old iPhone or iPad with a USB-C Lightning cable. To transfer data, confirm your new Galaxy as a trusted device. When the “Trust this computer?” alert appears on your iPhone or iPad, Tap “Trust”.

Step 2: Select

Choose the data you want to bring over from your old device and then tap “Transfer"

Step 3: Import

Start the import and let Smart Switch do the work for you. Your Galaxy will be ready to go in no time. Keep the cable connected. Once setup is done you can check the status of your transfer in your notifications

Step 4: Transfer more

Leave something behind? Tap “Get your iCloud data” and then sign into your iCloud account. Choose the content you want to transfer and tap “Import”. 

Please note: 

  • To transfer data from iCloud you must sign into your iCloud account and select the content you want to transfer, then tap “import”.
  • You can also download Android apps that match your iOS apps.

Step 1. Select the options you wish to transfer, to organize your phone and tap next.

Step 2. Select the options you wish to transfer, to navigate your phone and tap “next”.

Step 3. Select the options you wish to transfer for your keyboard on your phone and tap “next” to complete the process.
