Low or poor audio quality on Samsung earbuds
If you are experiencing low volume or poor sound quality on one or both of your Galaxy Buds, there may be a couple reasons why. You might be wearing the earbuds incorrectly, or the buds could have accumulated dust or debris. Additionally, the audio quality could be affected by outdated software low battery, and several other factors.
Clean the microphone hole, speaker, and air passage.
If the volume is lower than the currently set recommended volume, clean the microphone hole, speaker, and air duct. Before cleaning the speaker, remove the earbuds from the retainer at the bottom of the earbuds. Use a clean, soft dry brush, cotton swab, or other tool to remove all earwax or debris.
Check the orientation of each earphone.
When you put the earphones in your ears, make sure the tips of the ear wings are pointing upwards until they fit comfortably. Then, rotate the earphones left and right to ensure they fit snugly in your ear canals.
Step 1. Clean the earbud tip and the mesh covering on the speaker. Use a cotton swab and dry brush to remove any debris or foreign materials from the earbuds and the earbud tip.
Step 2. Wipe inside the earbud tip with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, earwax, or oil from the mesh part of each earbud receiver. Avoid using a metal or wire brush when cleaning the earbuds, as the harsh bristles may damage them.
Step 3. Reattach the earbud tip, and then use a cotton swab to clean the charging contacts and sensor on both earbuds and the contacts inside the charging case.
Step 4. Use a dry, soft cloth to gently wipe the earbud blades. Keeping these clean will help prevent interference with touch command functionality.
Make sure you wear the headphones correctly.
Please ensure you are wearing the headphones correctly. Different headphone models may cause variations. If your microphone is covered, it may create an echo.
Adjust the volume of your headphones using your device.
You can use the volume up button to increase the volume of the connected phone. If the volume is set to maximum but the sound output is still very low, it may be because the phone and headset have two separate volume control settings.
Adjust the volume of the headphones themselves.
To control the volume of the headphones themselves, you need to configure the touchpad commands.
Check the headphone battery status.
If the earbuds are low on battery, you may need to charge them. You can check the battery level in the Galaxy Wearable app.
Alternatively, you can insert the earbuds into the charging case to check the battery level. Depending on the earbud model, the indicator light on the charging case may be located on the front or back of the case.
If you cannot hear any sound during a call, please check if ambient sound mode is enabled.
Ambient sound mode allows you to hear background noise during a call. You may hear a lot of background noise while you are speaking. You can turn off ambient sound mode to avoid this problem.
However, if you are using Galaxy Buds Live or Galaxy Buds Pro, you should turn on Active Noise Cancellation to prevent background noise from getting through.
Galaxy Buds Live does not have an Ambient Sound mode .
Check your phone's sound settings.
If the application you are using has a balance setting, you can adjust it to balance the sound between the headphones.
- Open the Galaxy Wearable app on the connected phone .
- Click Headphone Settings .
- Click Help Tools.
- Move the balance slider to the left or right until the volume is equal in both ears.

If possible, restart your earbuds. To restart the earbuds, insert them into the corresponding slot in the charging case, close the charging case, and remove them after at least 7 seconds.
If the above steps do not work, you can try resetting your headphones completely. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your mobile device, then tap Headphone Settings > Reset.
