Linking your Samsung Smart TV to your Samsung account will allow you to download new apps as well as update your current apps right from your screen. This article will help you get registered.
Samsung Smart TV makes home entertainment more exciting and enriching, but many of its best features require you to connect with an account on the Samsung website. Here is a quick guide to help get you started in the process.
1. Create an Account on Samsung.com *
Go to the following URL to complete your registration: http://www.samsung.com/support/account/login
- Valid Email Address
- Device information
- Model Name
- Model Code
- Password - must be at least 8 alphanumeric characters
You can also set up your credit card information if you wish to purchase apps. You can also do this if you choose to purchase an app from Samsung Apps TV on your computer.
2. Connect Your Samsung Smart TV to the Internet
You can connect using a directly wired connection to your LAN (Local Area Network) hub, or by connecting wirelessly (older models will need a Samsung Link Stick Wireless LAN Adapter).
Access the Menu to select Network, then Network Settings.
Choose your connection type and press enter.
Once you receive confirmation, you are connected.
3. Activate Your Product
After your Samsung Smart TV is connected, you’ll need to activate it before you can download apps. To do this, access the Smart Hub and login with your Smart TV ID. If you haven’t set up a Smart TV ID yet, you can do this now.
Creating a Smart TV ID:
- Press the [A] button on your remote.
- Select “Create Account” and press Enter.
- Enter a valid email address and choose a password.
Your password can be any combination of letters, numbers and symbols.
You can register up to 10 user accounts.
After you log in:
- Select “Settings”
- Select “Account Management”
Highlight Samsung Apps and select “Register”
4. Purchase and Download Apps from Your Device
Once you get your accounts connected, you can start to download apps to your Smart TV. You can use your linked credit card, or you can use App Cash, which works like a gift card. You can only buy App Cash online.
From the Smart Hub menu, select an app you want to purchase, and click "Buy now" if it is a paid app or “Download now” if it is free.
Click "Download now" to finish the transaction.
You can purchase as many apps as you want at once.
The Samsung App Store has hundreds of apps to choose from, and we’ll be adding more as they become available. If you have trouble downloading apps, check out the App Store FAQ.
