How to troubleshoot Camera app errors
If your Galaxy phone displays "Cannot launch Camera", it may be caused by a temporary error in the Camera app. Follow the steps below to delete app data, restart your phone, or run a camera diagnostic in Samsung Members.
Delete Camera app data
This issue may occur due to a temporary error in the Camera app. Deleting the app data can help restore normal operation.
Note: When you delete Camera app data, all camera settings return to default values. Photos and videos are not deleted.
Restart your phone
Restart from the power menu
A temporary error may prevent the Camera app from working properly. Restart the phone from the power menu and check if the camera operates normally.
Restart using the buttons
If the device does not respond, press and hold the Side key and Volume down key together for at least 7 seconds until the phone restarts automatically.
Run a camera diagnostic in Samsung Members
If the issue continues, check the camera function using the Samsung Members app.
Note:
- The phone diagnostic feature is available only on Galaxy devices with Samsung Members installed.
- To test a specific item, select Start now and choose the function you want to test.
Note: Menu names, paths, and screen layouts may vary depending on your device model, software, or app version.
