What should I do when the oven panel doesn't react when pressed?

Last Update date : Aug 26. 2025

Reason

There are a variety of causes for the oven's panels not functioning when pressed. Please check the causes and solutions below.

Follow these Steps if your oven does not react

Step 1. Clean the control panel.

  • The panel may not be responding because it is not detecting your fingers. Use a damp cloth to wipe down the control panel, dry it and then test again.

Step 2. Make sure you are touching buttons correctly.

  • Some microwaves have capacitive touch panels. On these microwaves, make sure to touch the button with a bare finger. The button may not respond if there is not enough area of contact.

  • Buttons should not require excessive force to press. If buttons work but only when using excessive force, visit our Service Center to request service.

Step 3. Check for control lock.

  • Some microwaves have control lock. If this is enabled, the other buttons will not respond., press the button for three seconds

  • There are also cases when some buttons will not respond while other functions are being used on the microwave.

Step 4. Reset the microwave.

  • To reset the microwave, unplug it or power cycle at the circuit breaker for 60 seconds.

Step 5. Request service.

  • If the panel still does not respond, visit the Service Center to request service.
