How to record, play back, and share voice recordings on your Samsung Galaxy phone

Your Galaxy phone lets you record voice memos, play back call and voice recordings, and check or share call recordings using the Voice Recorder app. With the app, you can record important meetings or personal notes, manage saved recordings, and share audio files with others through SMS or social networking apps. You can also find voice and call recordings through the Phone app and the My Files app.

How to record a voice memo

Use the Voice Recorder app to create voice memos and manage your recordings directly on your Galaxy phone. To record a voice memo, follow the steps below.

Step 1. Tap the Voice Recorder app.

Step 2. Tap the Record icon to start recording.

Step 3. To stop recording, tap the Stop button.

How to record a call

You can record a call while a call is in progress using the Samsung Phone app. This allows you to save the conversation for later review.

Step 1. Tap the Phone app.

Step 2. During a call, tap Record to start recording the call.

How to play or share voice recordings

The Voice Recorder app allows you to access voice recordings created on your device. You can also play back each recording directly in the app.

Step 1. Tap the Voice Recorder app.

Step 3. Tap the Play button to listen to the recording.

Step 4. To share a recording, tap and hold it, then tap Share.

Note:

  • The Voice Recorder app can be downloaded and installed from the Galaxy Store.
  • Touch and hold a recorded file to delete it or share it with others.

How to find voice and call recordings using the My Files app

You can use the My Files app to directly access voice recordings and call recordings saved on your Galaxy phone.

How to check and share call recordings using the Phone app

You can view and share recorded calls directly from the Samsung Phone app settings. This method allows quick access to call recordings without opening the Voice Recorder app.

Note: Call recordings are automatically saved when the call ends, if the automatic call recording setting is enabled in the Samsung Phone app.

How to check and share call recordings using the Voice Recorder app

You can also manage and share call recordings directly from the Voice Recorder app.

Note:

  • Call recordings are automatically saved when the call ends, if the automatic call recording setting is enabled in the Samsung Phone app.
  • Third-party recording apps may use different methods and file storage paths.
  • Call recordings made using the default Samsung Phone app support two-way recording. When using downloaded third-party apps, the other party's voice may not be recorded.
  • If the call recording feature is turned off, call recording may not be available during calls.
  • When Auto record calls is enabled in the Samsung Phone app, recordings are saved automatically after each call. Call recording files can be shared using Quick Share, Messages, email, Bluetooth, and more.
  • Available methods for sharing call recording files may vary depending on the model.
  • Menu names, paths, and screen layouts may vary depending on your device model, software version, or app version.
