What to do if your Samsung OLED TV screen shifts or if the corner of your screen is cut off?

Last Update date : May 12. 2022

You do not have to worry if your TV screen moves periodically or if the corner of your TV still image is cut off. Pixel Shift is working to protect your screen.

What is Pixel Shift?

To reduce the possibility of screen burn-in or image retention, Samsung OLED TVs are equipped with a Pixel Shift function. This function moves the pixels of your screen at regular intervals to prevent screen issues, which may make the screen appear to be moving.

Note:

  • When Pixel Shift mode is used, the edges of the screen may move outside of the screen borders and may not be visible.
  • To fix the screen at the home position, turn off Pixel Shift mode.
  • To prevent burn-in when viewing content with a lot of static images, turn on Pixel Shift mode.

It is not an issue with your device if the corner of your TV still image is cut off, or if the size of the left and right bezels of your TV screen is different. Pixel Shift mode is enabled to prevent burn-in and image retention. You can turn off Pixel Shift to resolve this issue.

The Pixel Shift function is enabled by default to protect your TV. If you want to turn this function off, follow the steps below.

Step 1. Press the Home button on your Smart Remote and navigate to Menu > Settings > All Settings.

Step 2. Navigate to General & Privacy > Panel Care.

Step 3. Select Pixel Shift.

Step 4. Select On / Off.
