يعمل قلم S Pen من دون الحاجة إلى شحن أو اقتران وهو متوافق مع هاتف Galaxy S26 Ultra وأجهزة Samsung التي تدعمه، بما فيها سلسلة هواتف Galaxy S Ultra (منذ هاتف S21 Ultra). الكتابة بقلم S Pen مدعومة في سلسلة Galaxy Note وأجهزة Galaxy Tab S اللوحية (Tab S6 والإصدارات الأحدث). لا يدعم ميزات Bluetooth مثل Air Actions.

عند اقترانه بهاتف Galaxy S26 Ultra، يدعم قلم S Pen‏ 4096 مستوى من حساسية الضغط لتقديم ضربات دقيقة وطبيعية. مقاوم للماء والغبار مع استجابة فورية تضمن سلاسة في كتابة الملاحظات أو الرسم أو التحرير.
