SINGAPORE – April 28, 2016– Samsung Electronics Singapore unveiled its spectacular new line-up of SUHD TVs today, looking to usher in a new decade of global TV leadership. This year’s SUHD TVs offer outstanding picture quality with Quantum dot display, its first boundless curved design which makes the TVs look beautiful from every angle, and the ultimate smart user experience that makes it easy for consumers to access all their entertainment and contents in one place.

 

In addition to the new SUHD TVs, Samsung also launched its latest range of UHD TVs and audio products.

Samsung SUHD TV with Quantum dot display: Unbeatable Picture Quality

 

Samsung’s SUHD TVs feature the world’s only cadmium-free 10 bit Quantum dot display, setting the quality standard of 1,000-nit high dynamic range (HDR) with the best and most vibrant colour and contrast available for true-to-life picture and experience.

 

The new SUHD TVs are designed to deliver the optimum viewing experience, regardless of lighting environment, and the new Ultra Black technology also significantly reduces light reflection to enhance picture quality with minimal glare. Inspired by nature, Ultra Black absorbs natural light the same way that a moth’s eye enables it to see better at night.

 

360 design for Unparalleled Immersion

 

Four years after introducing its first Curved TV, Samsung has introduced its first boundless TV – the KS9000, KS7500 and KS7000 SUHD TV.

 

With seemingly no bezel that normally functions as the frame of the TV, the viewer’s attention is focused purely on what matters most – the captivating content on the virtually edgeless screen. In keeping with this design ethos, Samsung has sought to eliminate all unnecessary elements, even removing all exposed screws from the rear of the TV to create an elegant device that is beautiful from every angle.

 

Unlimited, Seamless Entertainment through Single Access and One Remote

 

Built on the Tizen operating system (OS), Samsung’s 2016 Smart TVs make it easier for consumers to discover and access all their favourite content and services, from TV programmes and movies to games, all in one place.

 

• New Smart Hub – The 2016 Smart Hub is designed to provide users with simple access to their favourite content all in one place. Users can browse content of the Smart Hub all while still watching live action on the main screen without disruption.

 

• Samsung One Remote – The new Samsung Smart TV eliminates the need to juggle multiple remote controls as users can control all external devices with the Samsung One Remote*. The Smart TVs automatically detect the type of game console, OTT box or home theater system that is connected to the TV, so no setup is required.

 

• Smart View –The Samsung Smart View app allows users to share their favourite content instantly with their family on the biggest screen at home with ease. The upgraded Smart View is now available on not just Samsung Galaxy devices, but supporting Android and iOS devices, as well as Windows PCs.

  • Samsung KS9000 Curved SUHD TV

 

The Samsung KS9000 4K Curved SUHD TV raises the bar for the consumers’ viewing experience with exceptional colour and true to life images, made possible by Quantum dot technology that unlocks up to a billion colour combinations. With HDR (High Dynamic Range) 1,000, it provides a far superior experience with striking brightness, exceptional shadow detail and vividly accurate colour.

 

Supreme UHD Dimming technology divides the screen into hundreds of smaller zones, analysing each one independently to adjust colour, brightness and sharpness for the optimum viewing experience. Ultra Black technology enhances contrast and preserves deep blacks and colour richness even in the brightest environments. 

 

The premium picture quality of the TV is complemented with its sleek, boundless 360° design that makes it look beautifully stylish from all around.

 

The Samsung KS9000 Curved SUHD TV is available now in both 55” and 65” models, retailing at $5,199 and $7,199 respectively at all authorised Samsung dealers. The 78” will be made available at the end of Q2 2016.

 

  • Samsung KS7500 Curved & KS7000 SUHD TV

 

The Samsung 7 series SUHD is equipped with the proprietary SUHD Quantum dot display, which delivers spectacular colour, brightness and depth for a superior UHD Premium viewing experience.

 

The SUHD remastering engine+ analyses the source of the content coming into the TV to upscale and deliver pictures at HDR 1000 picture quality, producing wider colour and contrast ranges for a more natural and true-to-life image.

 

The gentle arc on the KS7500 Curved SUHD TV brings the corners of the screen closer to the viewer, providing a clearer perspective with ultimate levels of detail as well as a wider field of view.

 

The Samsung KS7500 Curved SUHD TV is available now in 49”, 55” and 65” models, retailing at $2,699, $4,199 and $5,999 respectively at all authorised Samsung dealers.

 

The Samsung KS7000 Flat SUHD TV is available now in 49” and 55” models, retailing at $2,499 and $3,899 respectively at all authorised Samsung dealers.

 

  • Samsung KU6500 Curved & KU6400 UHD TV

 

Enjoy 4K Ultra HD resolution and HDR content with the Samsung KU 6 Series UHD TV. With HDR Pro, users can enjoy previously unseen details in the brightest and darkest parts of any scenes for a true HDR cinematic experience. Furthermore, a wider spectrum of colour is expressed to bring pictures to life through Active Crystal Colour technology.

 

Samsung’s UHD Picture Engine+delivers UHD-level pictures even when streaming lower resolution contents that are not from a UHD source, enhancing the quality of every viewing experience.

 

The Samsung KU6500 Curved UHD TV is further equipped with Auto Depth Enhancer technology that applies optimal level of contrast between different objects to give the image outstanding depth and greater clarity for an immersive viewing experience.

 

The Samsung KU6500 Curved UHD TV will be available in early May 2016 in 55”, retailing at $3,299 at all authorised Samsung dealers. The 65” will be made available at the end of May 2016.

 

The Samsung KU6400 Flat UHD TV will be available in early May 2016 in 55”, retailing at $2,999 at all authorised Samsung dealers.

Samsung 2016 AV Line-up

 

Samsung also introduced its latest range of Curved and Flat Soundbars, designed to complement its new TV line-up while enhancing the home entertainment experience through immersive and crystal clear sound.

 

Curved Soundbars

 

The latest line up of Samsung Curved Soundbars boast a premium design with a metal grill finish that enhances the curved appeal of the Curved TV while delivering outstandingly immersive sound.  The Curved Soundbars are equipped with dedicated amplifiers for each speaker in order to produce clearly differentiated layers for more accurate sound.

 

Engineered and tuned by Samsung Audio Lab in California, USA, the Samsung Curved Soundbar offers exceptionally balanced sound. Unlike most sound systems, it uses separate amplifiers to process high, mid and low frequencies, as opposed to the usual one amplifier. This results in frequencies that are better tuned for more accurate audio sound across an entire spectrum of sound.

 

Expansion of the sound system is possible by wirelessly connecting two Wireless Audio 360 units in the rear.

 

The Samsung HW-J6501R/XS, HW-J7501R/XS and HW-J8501R/XS will be available in mid-May 2016 retailing at $799, $1,099, and $1,399 respectively at all authorised Samsung dealers.

 

Flat Soundbars

 

With Surround Sound Expansion feature, the soundbars expand the optimal listening area and elevate the height of the sound to the level of the TV screen, so that the sound seems to come straight out of the TV. Users can enjoy a realistic lifelike sound experience with truly immersive sound effects.

 

All Samsung Flat Soundbars are equipped with a Wireless Subwoofer, which reduces messy wiring. Engineered and tuned by Samsung Audio Lab, the HW-K551/XS and HW-K651/XS Flat Soundbars are equipped with six built-in speakers that give depth and power for a clear and accurate audio experience, including a centre speaker that delivers richer sound for crystal clear dialogue.

 

The wireless rear speaker system SWA-8000S will be made available in end of Q2 2016, giving users the option to expand their surround sound system.

 

The Samsung HW-K360/XS, HW-K450/XS, HW-K551/XS and HW-K651/XS are available now, retailing at $299, $399, $599 and $699 respectively at all authorised Samsung dealers.
