I’ve been using (and upgrading) my previous phone since 2010.
It has been a big part of my life. I use it for work, recreation, and social media; as a camera, a storage device, a recording device for my voice-over work (since COVID-19), a video camera for my stories, and a work station for my zoom meetings.
I love that it is all-in-one, with certain aspects that excel more than others.
I’ve been using (and upgrading) my previous phone since 2010.

Projects during the COVID-19 period have made it essential for me to multi-task, especially when planning for hybrid runway shows and The Front Row digital festival.
Multi-tasking is not just about cramming as many functions into the phone as possible, but about enabling the smooth transition from one function to another.
I always find myself doing three things at once, and it was difficult not having three screens open (like my desktop), as it slows down my work and makes it more inconvenient to work on the go.

I was introduced to Galaxy when I worked on the runway show with Samsung and Club21 in September 2021.
While I loved the sleek, sophisticated feel of the phone, I was initially skeptical about whether I would be able to make the switch easily, as I’ve been using the same system for more than a decade.
As I familiarized myself with the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, I was surprised at how easily I could manage the functions and learn all the new skills needed to navigate the device.
I went away impressed, and realized that all the doubts I had were self-imposed and all in my head. I transitioned easily, managing two phones for a period of time, and quickly realizing the strengths of the Galaxy.
I started doing all my research with the Galaxy, as I could juggle three screens simultaneously. Plus, I can now watch and enjoy YouTube and Netflix on the go, and really appreciate the programmes on a large screen. This is especially important when I’m watching fashion shows, as it means that I will not miss small details of the styling and design.

I LOVE the large screen, which makes watching videos all the more enjoyable. The fold function ensures that the phone is always portable and convenient to carry around.
I love that the camera is hands-free, so I can also use it to take nice and creative selfies and wefies with my dogs on their walks.
And multitasking with the multiple screens makes my life so much easier. Plus, it’s S Pen compatible so that really helps my work-on-the-go tremendously.
It’s also very tough and water-resistant, which is important 'cos I’m a klutz! I’m so clumsy that I drop my phone all the time. And by being water-resistant, I can also use it when walking my dogs in a drizzle (and continue to take pictures of them!).
It’s stylish so I can carry it when I’m dressed up or dressed down, without fear that it’ll look out of place.

I think the fear and doubts are all in the mind.
Yes, it will take a bit of time to learn the new workings and functions – but it’s no different from getting to know any new devices that you bring into your life.
Give it a chance, and there’ll be no turning back.
