 How Do I Transfer MP3 Files To My SCH-I910 (Omnia) Phone?


The SCH-I910 (Omnia) offers three methods for having supported audio files, including MP3 files, transferred to it. Click on a method in the table below for details:


Supported Audio File Transfer Methods


Note: For detail on supported audio file formats refer to Media Specifications for the SCH-I910 (Omnia).



Mass Storage


 To transfer MP3 files to the handset follow the steps below:

  1. From the Today screen, plug the data cable into the handset's power/accessory interface connector

  1. Plug the other end of the data cable into a USB port on the PC
  2. If a new removable disk box appears, select "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" on the new Removable Disk screen





  1. If the box doesn't appear, open Windows Explorer
  2. Click on the new removable drive letter
  3. Click on the plus sign (+) to the left of the DCIM folder
  4. Copy and paste, or drag and drop, the MP3 files into the 100SSCAM folder






  1. Ensure that ActiveSync is installed and running on a PC or laptop
  2. Connect one end of the data cable into the power/charging port on the side of the handset and the other end into a USB port on a PC or laptop

Once ActiveSync recognizes the device a setup wizard will pop-up to create a partnership.

  1. Click through the wizard and marking the desired settings

When finished, ActiveSync will display "Connected" and "Synchronized".

  1. In ActiveSync, click on Explore
  2. Open the My Music folder
  3. Copy and paste (or drag and drop) supported audio files, such as MP3, to the My Music folder window





Memory Card


Note: This method requires the use of a microSD memory card reader. Contact the manufacturer of your PC/laptop or a local electronics retailer.


  1. In accordance with its operating instructions, use a microSD memory card reader to copy supported audio files, such as MP3s, to a microSD memory card from a PC/laptop
  2. Remove the microSD memory card from the memory card reader
  3. Refer to Inserting A Memory Card for details on removing the battery cover, installing the memory card, and the replacing the battery cover to the handset
  4. On the handset, tap Start from the Today screen
  5. Tap Programs
  6. Tap File Explorer
  7. Tap the Navigation Bar and select Storage Card
  8. Tap and hold on the desired audio file to bring up a context menu
  9. Tap Copy
  10. Tap the Navigation Bar and then tap My Device
  11. Tap My Documents
  12. Tap My Music
  13. Tap and hold in an empty area and then tap Paste







  1. Pair both Bluetooth devices
  2. From the other Bluetooth device, initiate an audio file transfer
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to accept the file transfer
  4. If prompted, enter the passkey
