Last Update date : Nov 09. 2021

To maintain fresh and clean air, it is recommended to clean the air conditioner filter and upper cover every two weeks. Please check the type of device and filters before the cleaning process. This video describes the Samsung wall-mounted air conditioner with the Easy Filter Plus and the PM 1.0 filter.

Easy Filter Plus and PM 1.0 Filter

For the efficient functioning of your air conditioner, it is important to keep the filters clean.

A wall-mounted air conditioner with Easy Filter Plus contains:

  • Easy Filter Plus (free filter)

A wall-mounted air conditioner with PM 1.0 Filter contains:

  • Pre-Filter
  • PM 1.0 Filter

Note: Clean the filters every two weeks or when the CF (filter-cleaning reminder) appears on the indoor unit display.

Before beginning to detach the filters, press the power button on the remote control to turn the indoor unit off. You can turn the indoor unit off with the SmartThings app on your smartphone as well.

Turn off the device and unplug the power cord.

Let’s start detaching the wall-mounted air conditioner filter.

  • Slightly press the hinges until you hear a clicking sound and lift the indoor unit cover.
  • Use the strut to hold the unit cover up.
  • Gently remove the Pre-Filter from the indoor unit.
  • Slightly press the front of the PM 1.0 Filter and take it out.
  • Please note that the inside surface of the PM 1.0 Filter is sharp, so be careful not to cut your fingers.
  • Now, all filters should be detached.

If the filters are covered with excessive dust, use a vacuum cleaner or brush to remove it.

  • Soak the filters in lukewarm water and leave them for about 30 minutes after adding neutral detergent.
  • Rinse the filters under running water. If necessary, use a soft brush to remove excess dust.
  • Dry the filters in a well-ventilated shaded area. Keep the filter out of direct sunlight.
  • Ensure the filters are not completely dry, otherwise they may smell bad when inserted back into the air conditioner.
