How to troubleshoot Camera app errors

Last Update date : Feb 01. 2024

If you see a "Camera Error" notice, if your device freezes or slows down when using the Camera app, refer to the guide below to fix the issue.

Before you try the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If you try to take photos or videos with the camera and a "Camera Error" warning appears on the screen, restarting the camera app may fix the problem.

I followed the steps below.

1.- Open the Camera application.

2.- Go to Settings.

3.- Go to Reset settings.

4.- Confirm in Reset.

If you have problems when trying to take photos or videos with the camera in a third-party application, you can perform the following test to verify if the problem occurs in the camera (hardware) or in the application used.

1.- Open the Phone application.

2.- Type the code *#0*#.

3.- Go to Mega Cam.

4.- Perform the corresponding tests (It will ask you to take a photo with each camera on the device).

5.- Press return several times and press the Front Cam option.

6.- Perform the corresponding tests (You will be asked to take a photo).

If the tests do not show any errors, the device will be working properly, therefore, the problem occurs in the third-party application.

If the tests show an error, you will need to contact the Contact Center to perform more tests.
