Tips to improve the battery performance of your samsung galaxy

Last Update date : Sep 26. 2023

Battery usage dictates a lot about its runtime, which means it can vary from device to device. The autonomy time of your Smartphone can be found in the instruction manual. Based on that, here are 11 tips for you to take better advantage of the autonomy of your Galaxy.

Screen brightness set to high levels increases battery consumption. One of the easiest ways to lower this consumption is by reducing the brightness of the screen:

1.- Open the quick panel.

2.- Drag the brightness adjustment bar to the left.

At the same time, adjust the display shutdown time settings with the following steps:

1.- Open "Ajutes".

2.- Go to "Screen".

3.- Select the waiting time on the screen.

Note: Try setting the screen shutdown time to 30 seconds and the screen brightness to adaptive.

Some apps can run in the background and drain the battery, and the more apps running in the background, the more battery will drain.

The fastest way to uninstall an app:

1.- From the home screen or applications, press and hold the application icon (a menu will appear).

2.- Select "Uninstall" and then "OK".

For more control over your apps:

1.- Open "Settings".

2.- Go to "Applications".

3.- Select the "Magnifier" icon in the upper right corner and look for the application.

4.- To uninstall, simply select the application and then "Uninstall".

Disable apps to increase battery life:

If some apps you want to uninstall can't be uninstalled, you can disable them to save battery power.

1.- Open "Settings".

2.- Go to "Applications".

3.- Select the "Magnifier" icon in the upper right corner and look for the application.

4.- Select the application and then "Deactivate" or "Force stop".

Always On Display or AOD uses AMOLED displays to display certain information when the screen is "off". It allows you to easily check basic information like date and time without opening the screen. Naturally, any activity that keeps your screen running continuously will use battery power. You can choose to turn off the AOD or set a timer for the AOD to turn on or off.

To turn off AOD:

1.- Open "Settings".

2.- Go to "Lock screen".

3.- Slide the button on Always On Display to disable.

How to schedule activities for ODA:

1.- Open "Settings".

2.- Go to "Lock screen".

3.- Press "Always On Display"

4.- Select the desired activities.

Note: Not all devices have this feature, check your smartphone's manual to see if you have this feature.

If you're used to keeping these options always on no matter the usage, the best thing you can do is turn it off when you're not using it, as each detection of a signal will drain your battery.

To disable each feature, simply drag down the notification panel (from the edge of the screen) and tap the corresponding icon.

Battery saver mode conserves battery capacity by limiting CPU performance to less necessary functions. This feature varies from device to device, but it usually closes all unnecessary apps and adjusts the screen to partially improve battery life. You can open power saving mode manually or set your device to open it automatically.

1.- Open "Settings".

2.- Go to "Battery and device care".

3.- Press "Battery"

4.- Activate "Energy saving".

Download the latest version of the software update.

1.- Open "Settings".

2.- Go to "Software Update".

3.- Press "Download and install".

Make sure your Galaxy gets a good signal from your carrier while using data. Using the device in areas with very weak signals consumes more energy, as it requires a constant search for a signal and should be avoided if possible.

If you, like everyone else, have a large number of apps on your device, such as email or social media, those apps will sync regularly or check for new emails and updates. Frequent synchronization can also decrease battery life and increase data consumption. Check the sync settings in your apps or email and make sure they sync only when you need to.

To adjust account syncing on your smartphone, simply perform the following steps:

1.- Open "Settings".

2.- Go to "Accounts and backup".

3.- Press "Manage accounts"

4.- Select the application in which you want to adjust the synchronization.

5.- Press "Select account".

For older generation batteries, there is often advice to encourage customer use until the battery is completely discharged. However, completely draining the battery on modern smartphones can ruin their lifespan. Samsung recommends recharging the device when it reaches between 15% and 20% battery.

If you don't plan to use your device for a while and put it away, make sure it has at least 50% battery left.

Minimizes device exposure to hot and cold temperatures.

Extreme heat and cold conditions can damage the battery. For example, don't leave your smartphone in the glove compartment of your car (or the trunk of your motorcycle) on a very hot or cold day. Some advice on the internet suggests that batteries last longer if placed in the freezer, but never do that as it is completely wrong.

Here are some final tips to help you increase the battery life of your Samsung Galaxy device.

  • If you are in the habit of using portable chargers, use only original and quality charging accessories designated for your device.
  • Only use high-quality Samsung chargers and cables.
