How to use Samsung News on your Galaxy phone

Samsung News is your newest destination for trending, breaking, and top news stories-delivered by trusted media partners. On supported devices, Samsung News becomes available through an update to Samsung Free and can be customised by language, region, and personal interest.

You can open Samsung News in either of the following ways:

• From the Apps screen
  Locate and open the Samsung News app from your device’s Apps screen.

• By swiping right from the Home screen
  You can also configure Samsung News as the panel that appears when swiping right on the Home screen. Here's how:

Once selected, Samsung News will open automatically when you swipe right from the Home screen.

You can also turn off Samsung News if you no longer want to use it. Go back to the Media page settings and tap Switch to turn it off.

To customise your news feed:

Follow specific topics and news sources to receive more personalised content in your feed.

Step 1. Tap the Following tab on the bottom right menu.
Step 2. Select your preferred Locations, Topics, and publisher Sources.

If you prefer not to view articles from certain publishers:

Step 1. Tap More options (three dots) on the article.
Step 2. Choose Hide stories from this source.

You can always restore hidden sources from Samsung News > Settings > Hidden sources and topics.

To show the weather forecast within Samsung News:

Step 1. Open Samsung News > Settings.
Step 2. Turn on Show weather forecast.

Weather data is provided based on your Samsung Weather app settings.
