CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP IN AUSTRALIA

Technology can change our world for the better. For Samsung, it's more than just products and services. We believe technology can open the door to a world of possibilities.

In Australia Samsung Electronics has partnered with the Foundation for Young Australians and The Australian Ballet to develop innovative initiatives to foster the skills and capabilities of young Australians.

Through our partnership programs, we tackle challenges such as youth unemployment and equal access to the arts and education. Using Samsung technology and expertise, we support and encourage youth-led social entrepreneurship and embed arts into learning to help improve educational and social outcomes.

SAMSUNG & THE FOUNDATION FOR YOUNG AUSTRALIANS

Samsung Electronics Australia has partnered with the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) to co-create initiatives that educate and inspire the community.

Our work with the FYA harnesses Samsung's knowledge, resources and technology and marries them with the Foundation's commitment to unleash the brilliance of young Australians. Together, we believe in working with young people to help enhance and transform their learning experience. Our initiatives are designed to drive innovation and inspire ideas and imagination among young people, giving them the skills and courage to be successful now and into the future.

  • Adappt is a first-of-its-kind social purpose mobile app development program, specifically for young Australians. The program aims to inspire young people to develop and pitch their ideas for mobile apps for social and environmental good. With the help of Samsung and FYA, participants broaden their skill set while building a network of new contacts for future career opportunities.
  • Through Propeller, Samsung and FYA celebrate inspiring young Australians who are leading projects to bring about positive change in their communities. Samsung helps supercharge youth-led innovation by facilitating peer-to-peer knowledge sharing and by granting funds and technology to help propel social change ideas within individual communities around the country.
  • Worlds of Work (WOW) is a FYA initiative that builds the skills and beliefs that young people need to make the successful transition into life beyond school. Samsung has collabourated with FYA to create an app to enhance the Worlds of Work experience. Students who participate in the intensive week-long WOW program utilise the app on Samsung Note 8 tablets to record and reflect on their journey as they learn about careers opportunities in Australia.

OUT THERE – The Australian Ballet in schools brought to you by Samsung

The Australian Ballet's Out There program gives young Australians the opportunity to participate in dance as a form of artistic expression, recreational activity and entertainment.

Since its inception in 2006, Out There has visited hundreds of primary schools across the country, hosting workshops and demonstrations with professionally trained dance presenters. With Samsung's support, Out There will be extended to visit children in remote areas of the country.
