Last Update date : 2017.09.21

To install the MZ-7TE250BW 840 EVO 250GB SSD on a desktop PC, follow the steps below:

● Step 1: Carefully open the SSD box and ensure that there are no missing components.

install1

Step 2: Remove the CD from the black document pouch and insert it into a CD-ROM drive.

install2

Alternatively, the contents of the CD can also be downloaded from the official Samsung SSD homepage. Make sure you are using a compatible data migration with your operating system, for technical assistance contact your reseller or Samsung Customer Care using one of the options below.

Step 3: Install the Magician program.

 install3

Step 4: Install the Data Migration program.

install4

Note: Using Data Migration, it migrates all of the user’s data including the OS. This means re-installation of the OS is not necessary. The installation file can be found inside the Magician Software folder in the CD.

Step 5: Run the Data Migration program, and then connect the SSD to the computer.

install5

Note: On the main screen, click Start to run the Data Migration program.

Step 6: Connect the SSD to the computer using the SATA to USB connector

 install6

Step 7: Run the Data Migration program, and make sure that the SSD is detected by the program.

install7

Step 8: Click the Start Migration button to start Data Migration. After Data Migration is complete, turn the computer Off and then disconnect the SSD from the USB connector.

install8

Step 9: Open the cover of the computer to remove the Hard Disk Drive

install9

Step 10: Disconnect all the cables that are connected to the original HDD in the computer.

install10

Note: The cables that have been disconnected from the original HDD need to be reconnected to the new SSD. It is recommended to mark these cables in some way so that they are not confused with other cables.

Step 11: Remove the HDD by unfastening the screws holding it in the drive bay.

install11

Step 12: Attach the bracket to the SSD using four screws to fasten it in place.

Note: Depending on the design of the computer, the bracket may not be necessary.
