Lines on Samsung TV screen

There are a few different ways you might see lines or missing pixels on the TV screen. To determine whether this is a software problem or a hardware issue, please follow the steps below.

Troubleshooting

1 Check whether the lines on the screen are moving or permanent.
2 If the lines sway, check the input source (HDMI 1, Video, PC, etc.) and connection to see if they are properly connected. Disconnect and re-connect the video cable/HDMI to check if the issue is resolved.
3 Pull up the TV menu and check whether the issue persists.
4 If the lines continue to move or stay permanent, perform a Picture Test by selecting the following options below.

  • 2023 - 2024 Model TVs: Settings > All Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test
  • 2022 Model TVs: Menu > Settings > All Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test
  • 2020 - 2021 Model TVs: Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test
  • 2016 - 2019 Model TVs: Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Start Picture Test
  • 2015 Model TVs: Menu > Support > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test
