Taking Screenshots on Your Samsung Galaxy Note II

Capture a Screenshot Using the S Pen™

  1. Press and hold the S Pen button.

  2. Press and hold the S Pen anywhere on the screen for one to two seconds.

  3. The screenshot will open automatically, allowing you to crop, share, or add a quick note to the image.

Capture a Screenshot Using Keys

You can capture screenshots by pressing Home and Power/Lock simultaneously for one or two seconds.

The screenshot will be copied to the clipboard and saved to the Screenshots folder in Gallery.

Capture a Screenshot Using Motion Gestures

Capture a screenshot by touching the screen with the side of your hand and swiping across from left to right, or vice versa.

  1. From the Home screen, navigate to Apps > Settings.

  2. Touch My Device and then touch Motion.

  3. Touch the slider to turn on Motion.

  4. Touch Palm swipe to capture to turn the feature on.

Viewing Your Screenshots

  1. To view your screenshots at any time, from the Home screen, touch Apps > Gallery > Screenshots.

    You can also open a screenshot immediately after you capture it by opening the Notification Panel and then touching Screenshot captured.

  2. Touch the desired screenshot at the bottom of the screen.

  3. When viewing a screenshot, the following options are available at the top of the screen:

    • Change player: View the screenshot on a nearby compatible DLNA® enabled device.

    • Share via: Share the screenshot using one of the available options. Sharing options vary based on applications installed and features turned on.

    • Delete: Delete the screenshot.

    • Camera: Open the Camera app.

  4. 4. Touch Menu for the following additional options:

    • Edit: Edit the screenshot.

    • More info: View technical information about the screenshot, such as its size.

    • Write on image: Add notes or drawings to the screenshot. Touch the toolbar icons to access the Draw, Erase, or Crop tools, and touch them again to view the settings for each tool.

    • Crop: Crop unwanted areas out of the screenshot.

    • Rename: Rename the screenshot.

    • Slideshow: Start a slideshow of the screenshots in the folder.

    • Add tag: Create tags for your screenshot. When using the Gallery search feature, you can touch the tag name to display all screenshots with that tag.

    • Studio: Edit the screenshot with Photo studio or Video clip studio.

    • Set as: Set the screenshot as a Contact photo, Home and lock screens wallpaper, Home screen wallpaper, Lock screen wallpaper, or Google+™ Photos Wallpaper. 

      Additional options may be available on your device.

    • Print: Print the screenshot to an available printer using a wireless network, Wi-Fi Direct®, or a USB cable.

    • Settings: View and edit Gallery settings, register your device with Samsung Link, view accounts available for syncing with the Gallery, select when syncing should occur, and turn on face tagging.
