Set up Hue Sync on your Samsung Smart TV

The Philips Hue Sync app on your Samsung Smart TV lets you enjoy seamless lighting experiences during your favorite programs. You can also use this feature with apps like Netflix and Disney+. This collaboration between Samsung and Philips Hue provides an exciting, immersive way to enjoy shows, movies, and games. The Philips Hue Sync app supports all image formats, such as 8K, 4K, and HDR 10+.

You will need the following to use Hue Sync:

  • A 2022 or newer Samsung Smart TV

  • The Philips Hue Sync mobile app

  • The Philips Hue Sync TV app
  • A Philips Hue account

  • A Philips Hue Bridge

  • Philips Hue color compatible lights

Note: This feature is supported on Samsung Smart TV models Q60 and above. Support may vary depending on the region and model.

1 On your Samsung Smart TV, navigate to and select APPS.

2 Search for and select Philips Hue Sync.

3 Select Install to download the app.

4 Select Start checkout, and then follow the on-screen instructions to purchase the app.

5 Once the app has been downloaded, you can connect the app to your Philips Hue system by selecting Get started.

6 To access the mobile app, scan the QR code on the TV screen with your mobile device.

Notes:

  • Make sure that your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Philips Hue Bridge.
  • Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.
7 On your mobile device, tap Get started.

8 Tap Continue on the next screen.
9 Please read the terms of use, and then tap I accept.
10 Tap Start setup.

11 Make sure your Philips Hue Bridge is powered on, and then tap Search.

12 When the Philips Hue Bridge is found, press the button on your Hue Bridge to establish the connection.
13 Once your Hue Bridge is connected to your mobile device, you can also add Philips Hue compatible bulbs. Make sure the lights are powered on, and then tap Search. Supported lights will be added automatically.

Note: You can customize the name of the lights by tapping Start configuration, entering a name, and then tapping Save.

14 Select the sync option to start syncing the data from your Philips Hue ecosystem.

Note: If the screen on your Smart TV is not updated automatically or showing the Philips Hue dashboard, close the Philips Hue Sync TV app and open it again.
