Bought this a couple weeks ago and was impressed and happy I was able to use my wired headphones again on my Galaxy S21 and sound quality was better compared to the Bluetooth recievers I've used. However upon trying to attempting to adjust the volume to max level the musuc would cut off and stop playing. With thus adapter you limit the volume you can play even with the volume limit removed in the settings, and the volume is substantially lower than using the bluetootooth reciever which doesen't have a limiter. If you going to remove the headphone jack at least put out something that work and at full potential without limits. It's a piece of junk!

first of all, i was super disappointed to find out that galaxy devices don't have a regular aux option. i bought this adapter so i could still use my headset, but unfortunately it has many problems: 1. mic doesn't work with it, so i can't make phone calls or join zoom meetings with the headset anymore. this makes no sense!! how do you create an adapter for phone audio without the mic part??? someone must be fired for this decision. 2. it has strange sounds when i use it 3. sometimes it randomly stops working, so i must unplug it and then plug it again to make it work. i've been a loyal samsung customer for many years and i don't think this is going to last anymore.

I bought this to use with a Tab s8 and some 3.5mm studio headphones. The build quality isn't great. The cable to the USB C connector is tiny and looks flimsy, and the quality of the sound is questionable, to say the least. It doesn't work with the UHQ Upscaler on Tab S8 Ultra. The option is still greyed out despite claiming to support 192khz/24bit. There is also some sort of staticy sound that is most noticable when listening to quiet parts of music or when listening at low volumes - especially when listening at low volumes. The best thing I can say about this is that is works. But does it work well? Not really.

i tried it with several sets of wired headphones, and it says 'the connected usb device isn't supported.' i use my phone to listen to my music, and this will be my last samsung phone unless they offer a model with 1). a headphone jack 2). adequate storage for large libraries of music, or an sd card slot. i don't care about the camera, i like using my phone to listen to music. i transport automobiles over long distances, and i need to be able to use a cable to listen to music, since i'm not allowed to set up my phone for bluetooth on other people's cars. i love these phones and i've had 5 straight galaxy devices, but next time i'll be looking for the best phone i can find that has the features i want and use.

This official adapter works for recording sound inputs from a lapel microphone, on Samsung Galaxy Note10+. I tested this adapter with two different lapel mics. Both worked. When a TRRS or 4-pin 3.5mm mic plug is connected to the phone, and a video is recorded using the built-in Camera app, a message that says "Recording audio through USB mic" displays on the bottom of the screen when the recording starts. The recorded voice volume is at the highest. When a TRS or 3-pin 3.5mm mic plug is connected to the phone, and a video is recorded using the built-in Camera app, no message displays on the bottom of the screen when the recording starts; but, voice gets recorded. The recorded voice volume is low or lower.

The headphones that came with my S20+5G lasted around 8 months, then stopped working altogether. I then purchased this adaptor to use with older headphones that still work flawlessly on 3.5mm jack ports, and while it was good for a while, a few months later I hear nothing but clicking noises and the device is no longer serving audio. Utter rubbish. I refuse to buy another after such a short time, and after many years of buying Samsung devices, my S20 will be the last as Samsung are clearly not a premium brand anymore. Don't waste your money on this garbage.

so i purchased the "onn audio adapter", it didn't work what so ever. i then purchased the "belkin headphone jack/charging adapter", it halfway worked with poor sound quality, decrease in volume, and static... i figured i would give this one a try because i missed listening to music in my car. granted this doesn't have a charger connection and should have come with my s20 plus, as many others have said before but this adapter exceeded my expectations! the sound quality is fantastic, the volume is loud and appears to be accurate based on the phone volume. if you have a samsung phone, i would definitely recommend this adapter... i've only used this one day so far, so as the durability and longevity goes i can't answer that just yet.

There's something wrong with the design of the USB connector. Two of these have failed in the same way. The connector won't fully seat inside the phone's connector after being plugged in a few times. All other USB cables connect to the phone with no problem. Even an iPhone adapter connects OK, just it isn't compatible and the sound isn't loud enough. What on earth are you supposed to do if you want to use your headset with Samsung's latest phones? This is a nightmare and I wouldn't have bought the S21 if I'd known this was the state of play.

i bought the note 20 ultra, and the obligatory headphone adaptor. what a waste of money. just another rip off. they eliminated the phone jack to make you buy their adapter. the samsung adapter is junk. the marketing guy or engineer who thought it was a good idea to do away with the audio jack should be fired. i'm on my 3rd adapter. they should have just left the jack alone so it would compatible all other devices, and we wouldn't have to buy a worthless adapter. or you can buy a usb-c headset that is only compatible with the phone.

Not durable in the slightlest. Have gone through 2 in the last 6 months. Rapidly declines into poor connection, causing the musix to stop and the speakers to crackle if the phone is so much as slightly touched whilst connected. 2nd one has now reached this point after 2 months and now even skips music or causes my phone to crash as it tries to open other apps(?!). Sadly, as Samsung has become as elitist as Apple, only the Samsung branded product will work....but only for 2 months. Save your money and buy and aux to bluetooth adapter instead

Honestly, it's awful. I read the reviews on how bad it was but bought one anyway as its needed. Crackling instantly and disconnects when on certain angles. The fact samsung make you buy this "Official" cable instead of supplying it and none samsung ones don't even work on the phone and this one is clearly defective is disgusting. I'd highly recommend buying it somewhere else to as its much cheaper on other sites. Honestly, terrible quality audio. Won't buy a samsung again as my music is important (I spend a lot of time in the car).

if i so much as gently place my phone in my pocket, it bumps the adapter just enough to register as disconnected, making it practically unusable if you're planning on moving anywhere. you'd think samsung was at least competent enough to make an adapter that'd work on their own product (s21 ultra), but apparently they couldn't have been bothered to test it for more than a minute. garbage product, not worth the price in the slightest. just put the audio jack back into the phone so we don't have to deal with this nonsense ever again.

Bought this about a month ago and just opened it up last night.Talk about a lump of coal for Christmas. My headphones have this incessant infuriating clicking noise every half second like old school records used to sound when they started spinning but the music hadn't started yet or like static. Tried it on my laptop and it's doing the same thing so it's definitely a problem with the adapter. The actual cable also feels very thin and will probably be susceptible to failure in the near future.

I have an S20 Ultra and the Buds+ so I only needed this for my car. I had already purchased the apple brand adapter and it worked ok however the volume doesn't get that loud even when my car speakers are turned all the way up. So i got this one in hopes it would work better, I was not disappointed it is nearly 2x as loud as the apple one and it even sounds louder then the radio and full volume. If you are looking for a headphone adapter you will not find one as nice as this one.

A few days after I purchased one for my Galaxy S22 it started loud rhythmic popping noises once every second. Then if you try to play music through it the output may become even more distorted like noise pedal for a guitar. The lack of a properly functioning DAC has made small parts of my life miserable to find unworthy roundabout half-way solutions much like the quality of this product. It's inherently flawed, and everyone should get their money back.

i have a headset i am trying to use with my s20 fe phone, i need this adapter to make it work, it only works sometimes, keeps cutting out, going back and forth from the headset to the phot. worthless for me. tried to get it exchanged under the year warranty but because i don't have a serial number (not on this tiny unit and don't have the packaging anymore of course) there is nothing i can do about it other than throw it out and buy another to try.

this adapter is garbage. worked fine for a few weeks now i can't get it to work at all! i've owned it less than 6 months. i use this because i don't have bluetooth in my car but most times i just end up playing music through the phone's speaker. i don't care about a headphone jack, things that samsung makes to go with their phones, should work, but alas they failed with this one! don't get me started on the ear buds, smh.

when i switched from a note 9 to a note 10+ it didn't have a headphone jack. and i still have a couple things that require that. i bought two other cheaper adapters and they wouldn't work with my phone. so then i thought i'd bite the bullet and buy the expensive one, so i did and 3 days later it broke. and at that time they didn't have them in stores because they had just come out. so i just gave up.

These look and sound great until they break, which is after very little use. Also, why does Samsung list reviews by highest to lowest customer ratings? It gives the impression that people are happy with this product, whereas as actually it's a catastrophe. How else are you supposed to connect headphones by wire to your modern smartphone?? I don't want to use Bluetooth. Samsung, please fix this!

it works perfectly with my S20+. In past, there was a click.sound while switching on the keyboard. it was now fixed. It performs well with my BGVP DMS earplug, with strong enough in bass, enough spacious , clear teeth sound, many details in MQA playing, outperform in female vocal. One thing that needed to improve the cable is not tough I think.. I am afraid it cannot last long.

On my XCover 5, works for playing music and for 3rd party app calls, but not for standard Phone calls with a 3.5 mm jack headset. Headset is tested on PC and works fine there. I think it is a problem with the USB-C software on the phone, though, insofar this dongle is not directly to blame, but as it doesn't work out of the box for my use case, I have to give a bad mark

The first one I bought of these had an echo, sent it back for a refund. The second lasted just over 18 months then has failed. The sound was just about acceptable for phone calls, although the volume was very very low. The sound was unlistenable for music - very thin sound and no bass compared to a standard audio jack on my apple 6 phone. Wouldn't recommend at all.

This is 4 one and they all do the same thing. Works great for a month but then starts to break down. The problem is external ones do not work great aswell we need the 3.5mm jack back. This has been an awful idea! If you need it for short term like 2 week usage it's great. If not you still have no other option but to buy it and buy 5

I was genuinely happy to have this the audio quality was excellent over the 3.5mm compared to the galaxy buds, it just stopped working after a day. Extremely disappointed. Might be different on other devices but warning if you are using this with a galaxy s21 ultra, after looking up online it seem to be a common issue with this.

Audio Quality is good and works really fine but the problem is build quality is poor, i borrowed this from one of my friend which he brought last few months, it broke with 2-3 month use, all i can hear is distorting sound and connectivity issues. Even my phone aux jack broke too (Samsung M14 5G) the reason why i was using it.

Why do I have to pay money to connect my external mic to my very expensive Samsung S20. Samsung does not care about audio functionality. Saying its built into the phone is a limitation. No 3.5 port you must buy this adapter. And only the Samsung adapter works. Making it more expensive and difficult to get.

I record all my studio music onto my phone using an audio interface. So I need a 3.5mm port on my phone! (S20 Ultra). By removing this, it's not just inconvenient for headphones, but also for people trying to make music! Very annoying and you should at very least include an adapter in the box of the new phone.

I had a trip to Manchester and back in a day, moved from Bluetooth to the adapter as Bluetooth was taking up too much battery, the adapter is crackling already and it is the 1st time I am using it. Got my phone as a gift, may just see if I can return it for a phone with a jack. Not worth the hassle

"Can I use these headphones with the 10?" "Yes but you would need an adapter or as most people call it a dongle." I remember when Samsung was team headphone jack but this makes me sad. Now they completely contradicted themselves. The Note 10 would have been the ultimate phone if it had no compromises. Bluetooth headphones are great but why can't we have the choice to use wired headphones or wireless? They even made a dedicated advertisment for the headphone jack making fun of apple for using the adapter A YEAR AGO. Removing the headphone jack has no purpose at all and there was never any need for an adapter. Although it is sad for me to see Samsung make a flagship phone without a headphone jack. I still love the company and i know in the past that they listen to their customers. Just like how Samsung brought back the micro SD card slot in the galaxy S7. Samsung PLEASE bring back the headphone jack in your future phones and let us the people choose how we want to use our phones. Thank you.

I have a Note 10+ and a Tab S6 which neither have a headphone jack and there were no adapters provided with either device! As much as devices cost these days that is unacceptable. The Tab S6 did not even come with USB C headphone like the Note 10 so they screw you both ways with it.

Bought this, the delivery was annoying but when it arrived, the product arrived exactly as described. Can confirm it works with my note 10 plus 5g (I am in England). Can now use old earphones with my note 10 plus. No special features but it does exactly what it is supposed to.

Bunch of false reviews here about the headphone jack, yada yada. As far as dongles go, this one is the best one for your Note 10/10+. I have the Apple and Google USB-C dongles and for the Note, this dongle outperforms them both. So if you need a dongle, look no further.

Bought it to plug in an external mic, it seems to have a good rep with DAC so I bought it. The recorded audio sounds good. However the cable stopped working after a couple of days of using it. Returned, going to try another one, hopefully it's just bad luck...

I have the Samsung note 10 this is the only adapter I've brought that some what works ... I've used it half a day and it keeps fazzing out and sounding tinny after a minute so I have to unplug and reconnect (using with an aux lead to connect to my car)

After trying a few this works perfectly. My earphones work exactly the same as they did on my note 9. Sound is incredible no crackling yet or faffing about with it. I am delighted. Some have had problems I have not fortunately.

I have an awesome pair of wired Sony headphones with the noise cancelling ability. I bought it years ago and have used it almost daily. When I upgraded my Samsung, the new phone didn't have a headphone jack so I needed a dongle adapter. To my depressing disappointment, the dongle governs the volume and flattens the bass and treble. When I wear the headphones, it's mediocre at best. Even with the noise canceling turned on, I can hear people talking through the music even when it's on full volume, which was NEVER an issue. I love these headphones because they deliver top quality sound at mid-volume. The stupid dongle took all of that away. When I'm at the gym, the ambient noise of treadmills running and weights being moved is louder than my music. I downloaded a volume booster app to try to make it louder but the quality gets distorted. I've tried several apps but the dongle interferes with them all. I'm really disappointed, especially since the adapter is a Samsung product and not a knock off. Makes me wish I hadn't upgraded my phone. :( Now, I'm going to have to buy wireless headphones which is a purchase I never planned on making. FIX THE DONGLE, GUYS.

Lasted one month of medium usage (~ 1 hour a day.) The Adapter was not compatible with my headphones microphone and would create feedback static and echoes on calls, the same microphone headphones would work fine when plugged directly into my old phone. The first week I noticed the Adapter would get extremely hot after around a half hours use. On the second week I started having connection issues where the headphones would lose sound for around a minute despite everything being plugged in correctly. By the third week I noticed some staining on the metal part that goes into the phone, it looked like the hard water stains you get on metal faucets (live in a dry area and the Adapter was not exposed to any water so I don't know what happened there.) The Adapter will now only work for about 30 seconds at a time before it switches the audio to my phones speakers. My headphones work with other devices and my port has no problems with charging so this is definitely an issue with the Adapter. I think the Adapter damaged itself by overheating, it will stop working without the cord being moved so I don't think it's a loose wire. Either way it is a cheap product that I would not recommend buying.
