How to add an email account to your smartphone.

To set up an email account in the Samsung Email app, there are two ways to set it up automatically or set it up manually. Email accounts such as Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft can be linked automatically, while other accounts can be linked manually.

Note: The Samsung Email application can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store or the Google Play Store.

If you use an email from Google, Yahoo, or Microsoft, all you need is an email address and a password. To connect to the email client, the application configures the account type and server settings automatically.

Step 1. Open the Email application, and then select the type of email account you want to add.

Step 2. Enter your account information to log in.

Note: The login may vary depending on the type of email you have. Once the application is connected to your email user, you may need to approve the privacy policy with the settings it needs to function properly.

To add another email address, tap the Email Settings icon and then choose + Add account. You can view multiple email accounts at once within the Samsung Email app.

If you use an email user other than Google, Yahoo, or Microsoft, you will need to set up your account manually.

Step 1. Open the Email application and then select Other.

Step 2. Enter your account information and then tap the Manual setup button.

Step 3. Select the type of account that best suits your needs. If you are using your emails on multiple devices, it is recommended to select an IMAP account.

Step 4. Enter your incoming server and outgoing server details. If you are using an email client recognized by the Samsung Email application, these sections should have completed automatically. Tap Sign in to finish setting up your email.

Note: If you need detailed information about your email settings, your email provider will be able to assist you.

The Samsung Email application allows you to write and send emails from your existing email accounts. You can also attach files from your phone.

Step 1. Open the Email application and then tap the compose icon in the lower right corner.

Step 2. Enter the email address of the person you want to send an email to. You can also touch the contact icon to choose an existing contact.

Step 3. Enter the subject of the email in the Subject field and write your message.

Step 4. When you have finished writing your email, tap the send icon in the upper right corner.

Note: Once an email has been sent, you cannot retrieve or edit it.

You can use the Samsung Email application to send files from your phone as email attachments. Start by composing an email.

Step 1. Press the clip icon.

Step 2. Select the application where the files you want to send are stored.

Step 3. Select the files you want to send and then touch Done.

Step 4. Your files will appear in the body of your email and then tap the send icon.

If the emails contain an attachment, a paper clip icon will be displayed next to the email in the mailbox. When you save an attachment, it will be saved to your phone's internal storage and you can find the file in the Downloads folder in the My Files app.

Step 1. Open the Email application, and then select the email that has an attachment.

Step 2. Tap the attachment or tap Save to download it.

Step 3. Once your attachment has finished downloading, you will be prompted to open it with a suggested application. If you want to open the attachment, tap your preferred app.

If the downloaded attachment won't open, you'll need to check the attached file format first. Once the attachment has been downloaded, it can be found in the My Files application. To open the downloaded file, most of the supported apps are already installed on your phone, but you may need a special viewer app for that file.

If the file won't open even though it's an attachment in a format recognized by the device, you may be able to fix the problem by removing the email account and adding it again. Follow the steps below to delete your account.

Step 1. Open the Email application, tap the Menu icon and select the email you want to delete.

Step 2. Press Delete in the upper right.

Note: Screen shots and device menus may vary depending on device model and software version.
