How can I manage Samsung Pay if my smartphone or watch is missing

Last Update date : Sep 25. 2022

Samsung Pay is a service that allows you to pay easily and safely from your Galaxy devices. As a paid service, Samsung provides the highest security to its customers, so if your Samsung device is lost, you can have peace of mind and every facility to lock your device.

The digital wallet in Samsung Pay on your Galaxy device has a lot more security than your regular wallet. But what if your device gets lost or stolen? If that happens, you can use Samsung's Find My Mobile service and other security features to remotely lock or erase your payment cards stored in Samsung Pay.

Please note: If you are unable to lock Samsung Pay, contact the card issuer immediately by calling the number on the back of your physical payment card. To use Samsung Pay on a smart watch with a non-Samsung Smartphone, you must update to Android™ 6.0 or higher.

When you lock your phone through Find My Mobile, Samsung Pay will be automatically locked too. Samsung Pay will request that the card issuer suspend any transactions made on your phone until you find it and re-verify your identity.

How to lock your device in Find My Mobile

1 Go to the Find My Mobile official website and log into your Samsung account.
2 Select your phone from the list of devices and when you locate it, tap “Lock”.
3 Enter the necessary information, and then click “Lock”. Now no one can access your info or Samsung Pay.
4 In the worst-case scenario, you can reset your phone by clicking “Erase data”. Remember, resetting your phone will completely wipe its data, including your Samsung Pay information.
5 Make sure to click the “Back up” option in Find My Mobile or take other backup measures before resetting your phone.

Please note: If the smartphone is reset, you will need to sign into your Samsung account on the smartphone to restore data from the backup. If a Google account is registered on the phone, you will need to sign into the Google™ account on the Smartphone before you can use the phone again.
