What to do when Samsung washing machine does not spin

If your washing machine is not spinning, it may be due to an unbalanced load, drainage issues, or maintenance needs.


Follow the steps below to identify and fix the problem:

Step 1. Make sure the washer is level and adjust the legs if needed.

Step 2. Open the door and redistribute the laundry evenly.
Step 3. Check that the drum is not over or under-loaded.
Step 4. Select the correct washing cycle and start again.

Note: Error codes like "Ub" or "Ur" indicate an unbalanced load.  

Step 1. Unplug the washing machine from the power outlet.
Step 2. Prepare a bowl to collect water.

Step 3. Open the filter cover using a coin or key.
Step 4. Pull out the emergency drain tube.
Step 5. Open the drain cap and drain the water into the bowl.

Step 6. Prepare a dry cloth.
Step 7. Unscrew the debris filter cap.
Step 8. Clean the debris filter and check for blockages.

Step 9. Reinstall the filter cap securely.
Step 10. Reinsert the drain cap and tube.
Step 11. Ensure all parts are properly secured.

Step 12. Close the filter cover.

Note:

  • Do not clean the filter while the machine is running.
  • Clean the filter regularly to prevent issues.  
  • Turn the washer off and on again.
  • Ensure the drain hose is straight and not blocked.
  • Check that the debris filter is clean.
  • Make sure the door is fully closed before starting.
  • Verify proper power supply to the machine.
