لا يتطلب قلم إس شحناً أو إقراناً، وهو يعمل مع هاتف جالاكسي إس 26 إلترا وأجهزة سامسونج الأخرى التي تدعمه، بما في ذلك هواتف جالاكسي إس 26 إلترا (بدءاً من طراز إس 21 إلترا). ويدعم قلم قلم إس الكتابة على هواتف فئة جالاكسي نوت، وأجهزة لوحية من فئة جالاكسي تاب إس (طراز Tab S6 والأحدث)، وأجهزة نوت بي سي. ولا يتم دعم الميزات التي تعمل عبر بلوتوث مثل Air Actions.
