We bought our tv just a few months ago, after our previous 60” tv had lasted us since 2011! We chose to upgrade to a 98” because we had purchased a larger home, with high ceilings and lots of space and our 60” looked like a postage stamp, we couldn’t see it from across the very large room. We also have 7 children, and who doesn’t love watching family movies on a 98” tv screen?! We stuck with the Samsung brand because we knew it would last longer than other brands (I mean, we got 13 years of daily use out of our previous Samsung tv!) and because Samsung remains affordable for families. Please keep making affordable quality electronics! :)

I bought this TV from The Power Centre in Thunder Bay , the salesman’s name was Wjotek and he was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. Having the great service is essential to me, from seeing the tv in the sales room right up to watching it in my own living room. Samsung technology makes it very easy to navigate the wonderful options on this gorgeous 98 inch TV. The picture is absolutely stunning , the only thing that is prettier than the picture is the incredible, affordable price point . I wish there were more than 3 HDMI inputs as I would like to connect more devices. On 9/19/25, after the warranty expired, the screen started to pixelate when using most applications. Shortly after the tv stopped turning on at all. I had the two boards replaced in the tv and it turned back on. Unfortunately, the screen now has a black section in the middle with a red and green lines. I'm a big supporter of Samsung products and will only use Samsung phones. It's sad that the tv lasted only a short time.

There is nothing like a 98" TV! I think I have finally reached the proper viewing size. For movies, it's like being in a theater. For sports, it's like being in the stadium. We are also using a soundbar, as opposed to my built-in Bose speakers, which I have been using for the past several years, and the sound is truly like being there. I am not a TV expert but I can immerse myself in what I'm watching without thinking about needing a better TV. That's saying something.

My husband and I loved that the setup was super quick and easy. We can't get over how great the picture quality. It's crisp and you literally feel like you're apart of what's on the screen. It's great for watching TV and playing video games... My son loves playing video games on the PlayStation and it's so much more realistic than previous TV's. Also, the built-in sound system is incredibly good! You get the sound effects of a movie theatre from the comfort of your own home. We can't wait to watch the Super Bowl on it. One thing that really surprisesld us was for the size of the TV it wasn't very heavy.

We connected the system through a e-ARC interface on our home theater and it worked flawlessly allowing us to control the volume from the TV remote. It also shut down the stereo when we turned off the TV. Another feature was he integrated apps that allowed us to use the TV to access different streaming services vs a secondary device. The picture quality is excellent and it is almost like being there. Since it was 4K, we upgraded our streaming services to enjoy more clarity. Excellent product.

Picture quality is good and once I turned off the picture enhancements the shows don't have the dreamy PBS look to them. The issue the Roku was causing almost made me lose my mind. Luckily my wife noticed the on/off button issue in some forums, and it was also the cause of the weird sound delay and sound loss problems. Unplugged the Roku from the TV and everything worked again. Bizarre that the Roku could bring this TV to its knees, but hopefully Roku gets it figured out because I like using their boxes.

But if you want a massive, bright, and smooth screen for Saturday night football and family movie nights, the DU9000 is the best value-to-size ratio on the market right now. It makes your living room feel like an event. The biggest surprise is the 120Hz refresh rate. Most "entry-level" giant TVs are stuck at 60Hz, which makes fast motion look jittery. On the DU9000, gaming on a PS5 or watching a 100mph fastball is buttery smooth. If you’re a gamer, the Gaming Hub is great because you don't even need a console to play some titles—you just connect a controller and stream from the cloud.

Like the size which is great and picture quality is great also however Samsung only offers HDR+ which is an in -house Samsung developped HDR of lesser quality than Vision (not offered). For now the perceptive difference is minimal to absent but as technology evolves... My biggest grief is the E-Arc management. This tv really has a hard time managing switching HDMI signal when using a receiver, I often switch from one video game console to another etc and it always takes a while for it to figure out which to use. Worst sometimes its like one signal is stronger than another and never displays the desired origin. If you use apps sometimes the sound will not follow and you will have to do several manipulation to get it back.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received the Samsung DU9000 Crystal UHD 98" TV last week, I am still impressed by the size and great resolution, everything looks like real life, insane vivid colors and deep contrasts; connected to my Samsung sound bar wirelessly sounds better than the movies. You definitely need 2 people to unpack and move this heavy oversized screen. Setting the TV was a matter of minutes with the included solar powered remote control, connecting to my streaming apps was easy with each supplying a QR code to link to each account. It was easy to connect my Bluetooth headphones to the TV for late night watching and my Samsung phone to stream maps and pictures also tried the DeX features of my phone on the screen.

Paired with the Samsung Q990D soundbar, which allows you to use both it and the TV speakers simultaneously, it's like having your own high-tech movie theater in your living room. The picture and sound quality are mind blowing. We use it for everything from gaming to playing our kids' favorite videos to streaming sporting events, movies and concerts. I have a lot of Samsung appliances (smart fridge, washer/dryer) and Samsung TVs, but this is by far the best purchase I have ever made from them. I am very dissatisfied due to the screen getting cracked when a ping pong ball thrown from a 5-year-old cracked the screen. My opinion is that a screen the size of 98" should be able to withstand at least an impact from a ping pong ball if not a little more of an impact. That being said I had no option but to replace this TV and due to this experience, I chose to go with a different manufacturer in hopes they provide a more durable product.

We’ve been a fan of Samsung for a long time till last month. So disappointed in the way they treat us. 3hrs of loop me over and over to 3 different departments. I have undeniable physical proof that no user damage occurred. My home security surveillance camera is aimed directly at the TV, and I have captured the exact two-minute window where the TV panel spontaneously cracked while remaining completely untouched. Despite this evidence, I have been unable to get Samsung to properly review my case or honor the warranty. They kept saying “physical damage and is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty”. Please tell me why that the TV was operating under normal conditions for the past month only to find out later on that a crack starts to appear internally not externally?

I love this gargantuan tv. I love the picture on it, was very bright with great color. It was super easy to hook up and use. I had intended to use a streaming stick with it, but decided to keep the native system it came with. I had also intended to hook up a surround sound system to it, but the sound was so good without one, I skipped spending the extra money. It is an incredible value at the price. I especially love the solar powered remote control that doesn’t need battery replacements.

Bought this for the hockey playoffs. Wasn’t sure with the size how the picture was going to look. Well even though my team didn’t win it all the picture was a Stanley Cup winner and the wife said she can finally see the puck with the excellent resposiveness. She also said once you watch it for a couple of days it doesn’t seem as big anymore …. Told her we had no more room. I have not really adjusted from factory settings as I don’t fell the need too.

When I'm ready to play all I have to do is turn on my controller. Not to mention the Xbox streaming feature. With a wired internet connection, you don't even need a Xbox for real. It's a whole package. With Bluetooth capabilities it makes a easy setup for a theater quality experience. Hands down the best tv purchase.

However, the picture is not as clear as I thought it was going to be and I tried to return it, but I was beyond my 30 day term for Nebraska furniture tomorrow so I'm not really satisfied with it but I have to keep it because I can't get it. My TV decision came down to either this TV or an LG and I am happy I went with Samsung. One thing I will say though, is that in order to get a more accurate image a detailed color balance is needed with an 11 point white balance as the stock preferences can be either a bit dull, a bit oversatured, or deep red.

I have been a loyal Samsung customer for many years. Over time, I’ve occasionally tried other brands, including Sony and LG - both make great TVs, but when I moved into my new home, I replaced those brands with my beloved Samsung TVs (currently have 10 around my house 😬) I can honestly say that I’ve never had an issue with any of my Samsung TVs. They’ve never broken down, and they seem to outlast my patience because I’m always tempted to upgrade after five years, yet they just keep performing flawlessly! This particular 98-inch Tizen OS Smart TV has been absolutely amazing for movie nights. Whether we fully black out our theatre room or leave some ambient light, the picture remains vibrant, crystal clear, and incredibly immersive. There’s honestly no need to go to the movie theatre anymore. If you’re on the fence about buying this TV, stop shopping around - this unit is INCREDIBLE!

Bought the 98" Samsung TV a month ago and love the large size. I also got a pedestal stand and it looks amazing with TV displayed on it. The only thing is the colors seem brighter on my 75" and 58" Samsung TV's but it's still a really good picture and colors are ok just could be more brighter with the black colors. Still very happy with my purchase and would certainly recommend this TV.

I use the Smart Things and purchased the Smart Things Dongle to control different things around my home. I love the quality of the picture on the TV. The remote control is solar and has a charging port so no more need to buy batteries. I definitely recommend to everyone who comes to my house and asks about my TV.

Have had the DU 9000 about a month now. Great TV, great picture, also easy to use.settings, etc. Paired it with a Samsung Q990 soundbar a couple of days ago. Wow. My daughter and her PS5 love it too. We both have 65" OLEDs C2s as well. She couldn't wait to bring her PS5 over fast enough. She was lovin it. 98"..............TV size does matter.

This so far has been excellent. It wasn’t hard to set up but you need help getting it in your console it’s not light. I love the remote. I can get in Netflix and prime with one click. It was easy to set up our Satelite remote to control it as well. You can set the sound you like so no need for a sound bar.

I've had this TV for about 2 weeks and so far, all is good. This my third Samsung TV and it is very large and impressive. I wall mounted it and was quite surprised that the mounting holes are quite shallow, only about half an inch deep.
