I remember getting 64gb ssd 850 and while at the time it took a bit for bios to deal with Ssds vs Hdd it was amazing to see a boot up after 1p second vs 1 minute. Then eventually 870gb replaced it since 64gb as a boot drive and the 512 hdd wasn't cutting it. At this point ssds we mainstream so migrating to the 870 tb was much easier and the performance( 550Mbs/500Mbs) was great over almost a decade plus the was an ability to use ram as a cache so kept my system feeling snappy up until Nvmes because affordable. I still have a small collection of these from old PCs I built as external drives and not once have they let me down

I bought my Samsung 870 Evo 1tb ssd to replace the hhd in my Xbox x (older version). It was like night and day. In my online game I play. Destiny 2, I would be flying while my clanmates were already on the ground fighting. After the hhd swap to ssd. I was on the ground fighting before some of my clanmates. Everything on my Xbox did a total 360. Everything was so much faster my gaming experience went from a zombie type feeling to a run away train feeling. If you are on the fence, just thinking about making the switch from hhd to ssd, I highly recommend this product! I promise you'll thank me later. P.S I can't take a Pic of the inside of my Xbox. I made the switch about 6 months ago.

The speed increase was beyond my expectations, making the unit act as if it were new. Start-up was much less than a minute whereas before I had to wait up to 3-5 minutes. All of the programs that I use daily come up immediately not the 2-3 minutes I used to wait. As a result of the speed-up, I purchased a second 870 EVO 256 megabytes for my laptop and was rewarded with an equal increase in speed from start-up to loading programs. The reliability and speed of Samsung drives are simply unmatched by any other company. I love that I can install one, and it works perfectly and it will continue to work perfectly for a very long time- they have the durability to outperform its own read/write specs. File transfers are a snap. And I've never suffered any data loss. It's durable, as well. Even though it's almost completely full the games I have saved to it still have no problem running at all no lag, not skipping, and also no difference in the quality of the picture. All those things are what I have had issues with in the past so to finally find one that runs not only to my expectations but above that is even better. My computer, my other device is to transfer files and data between all of them. I love the speed and productivity that it allows, and the fact that I was able to speed up my computer by removing all my video pictures, audio files. To my 1 TB drive, and then yeah, being able to use those files on any of my other devices, it's just simply by connecting it to them through the port. This SSD, like all my other Samsung products is in a class above the rest. It gave me fast read/write speeds with zero glitches. Before I retired my laptop I ran a quick health check and it had no bad sectors and I do a clean install sometimes 2 a year and consider myself a power user and popped this drive out to throw somewhere else later. I always recommend Samsung products to the many people who ask me for recommendations because their quality control is always a cut above the competition, in other words you won't need to mess around with replacement products if you buy Samsung = 0 downtime. There really isn't any other company I can say that about.

Since SATA SSDs can be used in place of a SATA HDD I purchased the Samsung EVO SATA as a Christmas gift. I installed, initialized and validated the SSD in about fifteen minutes without any tools (Thank you Dell). The 6 Gbps speed maxes out the SATA interface, so it as fast as a SATA can be. The son-in-law is much happier knowing he has another 1 TB of additional storage. And still has room to grow, if needed.

I got this 2ish to 3 years ago and it just failed, it not only took all the data I had on it but did it as I was doing something else causing my computer to crash then to put salt in the cut it kept reporting that it was there to my OS causing that to begin glitching as it tried to access the data but couldn't so I wasn't even able to figure out it was this until I pulled all my drives and tested them 1 at a time. Now nothing is recognizing it not my desktop or the desktop of my friend who helped me test it so I don't think any data can be saved.

I got one about year ago and it had bad firmware but I worked with support and was able to send it in for repair/replacement since it was still well within warranty. I get it, people mess up from time to time but at least support didn't try to push the blame on me at any more. I bought another as a replacement for that one and I have 3 others all the exact same. I'd had 2x 840 EVOs before this and they held up like a champ each of them. I only replaced them for something bigger. So I fully expect these to perform the same way.

Reading from and writing to the drive is very fast with this drive and running some tests with CrystalDiskMark showed that the drive easily reaches the max speeds for the interface. In fact, I believe this drive's performance is bottlenecked by the limitations the SATA protocol imposes on it.

Optic cable adapter can be used to replace optic disc with another SSD. My laptop was held back with half memory and slow SATA 2, before upgrades. Now security software does not cause system to crash or lock up. And, updates function properly. It is just what I needed. Do not waste money on USB SATA adapters.

Лежит прямо сейчас на столе три трупа 870 EVO. Куплены в конце 21 года. 500Гб и два по 2Тб. Стояли на офисном ненагруженом сервере. Тот что на 500Гб лег полностью 400 ошибок уже по смарт. TBW у него просто смешной - 800Гб из 300Тб. Двух терабайтники тоже потенциальные трупы. На одном уже 84 ошибок, на втором 5. При этом пробег у них из заявленных 1200Тб - всего 35 на одном и 5 на другом. 500 сдал в гарантию. Но оно мне не надо вообще потерять серверный ссд, мучаться, потом бегать по гарантийкам, когда из 300Тб оно и 1 не набегало. А вот 2Тб я вообще не могу никуда сдать. Выяснилось что они заехали в Украину неофициально, хотя брал в огромном онлайн-магазине и историей. Гарантия занижена до 12мес вместо 5 лет. Тупо две бесполезных жезезки. НЕ БЕРИТЕ 870 EVO выпущенные в 21 году. Если не верите - ищите в гугле. Есть куча тем по этому вопросу на редите, техповерапе, ихбт и т.д.

installed this ssd in a dell inspiron 660 install went smooth, migration of data from old drive to new with samsong software moved everything to the new drive absolutely seemless operation, get the goggles and scarf this will blow you away. i left the old drive in the computer just unplugged the power cable. my drive was the 2 tb drive and brother i needed the space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing ssd even after a year of frequent use its still at 98% life left. The dram allows any transfers within the drive to happen lightning fast. Even transfers from other dives will max out a sata 3 connection. Theres none of the annoying intermittent transfer speeds you get from cheaper ssds, where it will go to 500mb then to 100 or 0mb. Just a great ssd overall.

Have loved and trusted Samsung EVO and PRO series for over 6 years now. Have never had on fail on me or decrease in performance drastically with age like another brand I won't mention. I have 2 drives in 4 computers and 3 in two laptops all Samsung EVO or PRO.
