The drive is super quick for the price that was paid for it. Installs games and apps, 10 fold over my OCZ SSD. Its been pretty reliable so far, about 6 months in and not a hiccup. Never needs to be defragged. Was extremely easy to install and setup for use. I will most definitely be getting a larger Samsung SSD, probably one of the PRO versions, for even faster loadups.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid, reliable upgrade — does exactly what it promises I picked up the 870 EVO 1TB to replace an old SATA SSD in my desktop, and it's been a smooth experience so far. Installation was plug-and-play — just swapped it into the 2.5" bay and it was recognized immediately, no fuss. Performance-wise, it hits right around the numbers Samsung advertises. Boot times are noticeably snappier, and large file transfers (I move a lot of video files) feel consistent without any weird slowdowns once the cache fills up, which was an issue I've had with cheaper drives in the past. I also appreciate that Samsung includes their Magician software — it's handy for keeping an eye on drive health and running firmware updates without needing third-party tools. For anyone size doesn't matter — I mean, obviously it maxes out at SATA speeds, so don't expect NVMe-level performance — but for a standard SATA upgrade, this is about as good as it gets. Build quality feels solid, runs cool, and hasn't given me a single hiccup after a few months of daily use. If you're upgrading from an old hard drive or an aging SSD and don't have M.2 slots to spare, this is a safe, dependable choice. Would recommend — especially if you catch it on sale.

This I bought this when I first came out on the market. And even now five or so years later it's still very fast has great health left and it's still kicking. I'd recommend it to end it absolutely anyone who's looking for a two and a half inch SSD hard drive for the speed and the money and the read and write capabilities of it..
